slaughtering the ps3? it has been out 9 months and has made up over half of the original 360 lead. plus, over the next year, sony has huge first party or exclusive titles coming and i've heard nothing about what'coming for ms next year. plus, ms has to deal with the 360 RROD and decide on ONE machine to sell. having 4 or 5 skus isn't going to work. it appears sony is catching up at a fast rate.
how do you explain ps1 success and how do you explain xbox1 getting thrashed to death by ps2? your arguement is't sound.
they could have done SOMETHING different-like MGS4 is now going to take place on a battlefield. it just seems like more of the last two games. not bad, but not worth all the hype.
this is what i've been saying. it's just another sci-fi shooter. more of the same. if you liked halo, you'll buy it, but it won't sell systems to brand new customers. if i had a 360, i'd be talking up Bioshock. great, new killer app with fantastic everything.(except that you don't have to worry about dying-that's lame)
elitegamer, you are so wrong about your facts, it's a waste of time to go through all of them. i don't mind your loving HD-DVD, but don't start throwing out numbers and percentages that are totally wrong. or maybe you work for Cymfony? oh, and you forgot several studios that produce dvds exclusively for Blu-ray, most notably Sony pictures! and you talk about a format reaching a sweet spot(what?)--but, what about retailers like blockbuster, and target which are leaning towards Blu-ray with th...
what, nobody can say a "finish the fight" because it appeared on a halo 3 trailer? that's just ridiculous.
textures do suck, but i like the revised history storyline.
let me put this into even simpler terms for you-forget your war on china crap--if blu-ray ends up beating its ONLY COMPETITION THEN IT(BR) BECOMES THE DEFACTO STANDARD FOR HD MOVIES. HOW SIMPLE IS THAT. TO SAY THAT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING.....DON'T YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SIMPLE ECONOMICS?
what numbers are you looking at william. the numbers i just saw yesterday place the difference between 700 and 800 thousand.
i wonder what all 10-12 million x360 owners are saying right now as they watch ms change their hardware with add-ons and bigger hard drives that they didn't get?
i would consider an over 30% failure rate for 360's a "hardware limitation". and aside from all the computer hardware experts on some of these posts, how much disc space is available does matter. x360 had been getting by but i don't see how it(limited disc space) translates into better games in the future. mass effect dev. said a couple days ago that their game barely fit onto a DVD9. what will they do in the future? judging by ms hardware up grades,(hdmi, larger hard drives)they ...
i guess you also haven't heard about the over 30% failure rate of the 360. i guess that doesn't matter much in your comparison of systems. i have'nt heard about bottlenecks on either systme, i just know that when you turn a ps3 on- it comes on. and when i'm playing the ps3 for more than 2or 3 hours it doesn't fall apart.
i liked FOM. it had a great story, vicious AI, and cool weapons. i can't wait till the next game. .
yea, when i played gears, it looked amazing. then i discovered no story, poorly connected levels, average AI, and a TERRIBLE final boss fight. i expected much more.
the ps3 has only been out 9 months. the 360 has been out 21 months. and there wasn't much for the 360 in its' first year. by the end of sonys' first year, they will have better games, both first and third party, than ms had in their first year. in sonys second year you don't have to look any further than MGS4,killzone2 GT, and final fantasy. 2 first party and 2 third party exclusive blockbusters. i don't believe any ps3 owners will be disappointed. plus, when all these games come out people wi...
uh, wrong. really, really, really wrong. analog component connections?built in scalers? wow, is there a stronger word for wrong. there should be just for this guy.
NOBODY ever heard of vga until ms started shouting that they have it.(their response to sony having HDMI) and the only people who use it are 360 owners or anyone who bought a cheap hdtv. and no, vga doesn't compare to the COMPLETELY UNCOMPRESSED SIGNAL that HDMI provides. so to put it in your equation form: compressed signal<uncompressed signal
ms also said at the same time that HDMI was'nt imp. or necessary for gaming but now they're adding it. ms said that a hard drive wasn't a necessity.(which is why they started out with a core system and no hard drive in it)but now the core system is going to be phased out and hard drive size is increasing in the new ms sku. i won't get into the lack of quality in the 360's construction or going with a dvd9 drive. ms being right? not about much i don't think. their actions now are proving this ...
you forgot to mention the x360 and its' 4-6 different models. sorry, ms is adding one every week so it's hard to keep track.
was there an actual thought in that whole collection of words. because i didn't see it.
