You guys really expect these pirates to purchase a PS3 when all the time this generation, they've been playing "free" games on their 360 and STILL have these copies lying around in their room?
An arcade sku is only $199. I'd say they would risk flashing the new 360 to continue playing their games, while staying offline for the meanwhile til a new workaround firmware comes up.
It's a blog. Obviously some of the games on that list shouldn't have been there. The writer's a failed journalist using a blog as the medium to express their failed opinions.
gamesthirstarticles.blogspot. com is definitely overrated.
"Yeah whats sad is we will see a head to head when GT5 comes out, and it'll be completely unfair (Forza 3 will have been out for 5 months) and similar to those pathetic GT5 Prologue vs Forza 3 comparisons =/ "
It's funny you say that, because we all know we'll be seeing tons of those "GT5 looks better because it's had 5 years of development" crap when really it's an evolution of the GT5p engine and GT5p was out few years ago.
The average consumer will purchase it at $99 because they're too lazy to find a cheaper alternative that doesn't have a 360 certified tag on it.
These sales will convince the company to keep it at that MSRP. It's the same reason why we're getting $15 DLCs from EA that only have a play time of an hour or two, on DAY ONE of the game's release - and it's because EA know consumers will purchase it. If it's the trend for consumers to buy it, we can sell it.
The ignorant...
The majority of shoppers (especially those in the holiday seasons) are generally your average Joe when it comes to video games. These average joes probably don't know jack when it comes to available options, prices, and necessary hardware. Christmas moms are more likely to buy a 360 along with accessories stamped with a 360 logo for their kids, than to check the back of an accessory to see if it's compatible with a 360 video game console. The average joe and jane is that ignorant when it ...
" Since September, the 360 has 3 big exclusives (Halo 3:ODST, Forza 3, & Left 4 Dead 2), not to mention Modern Warfare 2, possibly the biggest game release ever (which will be much bigger on 360 than PS3). "
The 3 big exclusives plus the multiplatform game that had huge sales day one. Notice that of those four games listed, three of them are shooters? And the one that isn't hasn't reached the amount of sales the other two has had despite all the hype and publicity? ...
Well it's kinda obvious it would sell better on the 360. Though I wonder if they also shipped enough copies to retailers. I was at Fry's browsing around and noticed MW2 was surprisingly out of stock for the PS3 while there were a lot to be found for the 360. This was just at the Fry's I go to though. I'm sure it's a different situation at other retailers.
It's really her manager or some agent of sorts that owns the warlock. j/k =)
Just the thought of Surrogates flashed across my mind.
If true, SCC demo packaged in is sweet. I'd pick it up at Fry's in a heartbeat since they've been having so many new game releases at $49.99
Isn't this... old? I remember reading something about him in a four hour race, some tidbits of a Lexus IS-F, and even pictures of him holding a trophy of some sort. Or was that completely something else and I've been smoking too much of the good stuff?
Well you can put that both ways. Why did MS decide to put HDMI onto the 360 after saying component was fine? Why introduce netflix, streaming, and 1080p when they originally said the 360 was a gaming machine and implied the PS3 had no identity?
I don't usually sound vulgar here, but to put it bluntly... why let MS have their own way and not allow Sony the same privilege? If you f#ck someone in the ass for being a douche bag, expect to get f#cked back in the ass as a repercuss...
More like Microsoft is scared of the PlayStation-Final Fantasy association, hence why they're doing a promo to get the message of a 360 FF13 release coming out as soon as they can to the masses. Kinda like there was heavy marketing for GTA when it was coming out. Tons oF 360 GTA advertisements on billboards and tvs, and practically not as many Sony ones. You guys even notice the GTA Liberty Stories advertisements that are popping up everywhere? It's like they're rebranding the DLC as an...
So retweeting a message. Does that mean Microsoft wants us to help them advertise a game on the system? It seems like it to me.
well i'm not sure if other classes get a different talent, but with the warden's keep, you get a
*spoiler*
Tainted Blood talent for rogues if I remember.
It's not that great. Increase in Atk Power while having a DoT placed on you when it's active. Believe me. The only thing special/great about the Warden's Keep DLC is the extra stuff you get to learn about ... Warden's Keep, Avernus, that new talent (if you choose to do a certain thing in the DLC), a...
I agree about the GoW in America thing. It's a great game. I enjoyed 1 & 2. But not many people know what God of War is or can even associate it with the PlayStation brand. We're talking about Joe and Jane here. Joe obviously knows what Halo and Master Chief is, and Jane knows at least enough to associate Halo with that green guy with the gun shooting aliens, mountain dew, and Xbox 360.
God of War on the other hand? I think Joe and Jane can associate Gran Turismo wit...
I expect another PS3 sales spike in Japan since FF is just down the corner.
The game itself is great... but the DLC is not worth the value. I went through Shale and Warden's Keep in under an hour, and for the price of these DLC, I expected them to be at least 1/4 of the game's length. Okay. Maybe that's too long. But is 3-4 hours from DLC too much to ask for? Especially when it's $7-15?
And don't give me the "oh the DLC will be 3-4 hours if you stepped back and read the codex stuff."
Give me a break. That's not gaming....
I didn't imply that those 1 million guys are going to be 360 faithful forever. They do have an option, which is why I said that's ~1 million sales right there. Who [console manufacturer] gets those 1 million or a big portion of it will be the one that gets to boast and pop champagne this coming holiday.
And I agree. If and IF a big portion of those sales go back to the 360, it won't increase userbase (like I've said in a post below somewhere), but still ... they are numbers t...
I would have to agree with some of the comments here. Given that both companies were desperate in cutting prices, but you have to see what $299 has done to the PS3. The 360 has received several cuts and some cuts were strategically placed to try to counteract the effect of the PS3 price cut. To no avail though, those price cuts for the 360 didn't seem to have as big an impact as the cuts for the PS3 did on consumer purchases.
Despite the cheapest 360 SKU being $199, the 3...
you know Disgaea has a really small fanbase compared to bigger name RPGs. SRPGs only cater to a niche market. Also considering that RPGs on the 360 were published by a "respectable" company such as Square Enix, and also the amount of marketing those games received, you'd think they'd sell a lot more.
If i recall, there's also an SRPG on the 360. Makes you wonder if that sold more than Disgaea.
To disgaea fans out there, you must never eat your eggs with...
