Game looks good. Downloading the japanese demo now from PSN (don't care to wait till tomorrow for it on US store). Judge for myself how "bad" the controls are. RE controls never bothered me. Even when the camera was static it seemed everyone complained about the controls. Are people really that deficient? I have a feeling the "bad" controls for RE5 are being blown way out of proportion as well....

If you read that whole paragraph you would see it then starts to say that the PS3 is looking good in 2009 while developers grasp the PS3's power and then lists some of the games that look impressive.
Overall tho it is about exclusives. PS3 is the winner here wit...
well CoD4 added a nice perk system. Unless there is some other game I dunno about that did that? Unless you just label it as a class system which I think it is pretty different.
Killzone 2 is doing one thing different that they have talked about (that I know of). Which is being able to combine class perks. Like having a medic ability with an engineer ability. Sounds interesting I suppose. Can't wait to try it.

I love my Mac tho. Graphic Design student so I was required to buy one but I use it for everything other than gaming.

Yep, why I think so many people are in love with it. The non-PC gamers had their first decent online shooter. So they fell in love with it immediately. Any PC gamer that has played all the great FPSes knows Halo is pretty mediocre in many aspects. But to tell this to the people that love the game cuz it was their first experience with a game of it's kind is like telling them their baby is ugly. So of course they get mad. Thus I'll expect to get a ton of disagrees as well...but the truth...
giving Halo way too much credit there buddy...
Get a time machine or something, travel back before Halo came out, buy a PC, and then get your facts straight. Capeeeeeesh?

Quake was my first FPS love tho cuz it had fun competitive online.
Only thing I can give credit to Halo is the health system where you can take damage then go to cover to recover. Like that a lot more than searching for health packs.
I'm not really happy about the COOP element myself. Mainly cuz I don't really have anyone to play with so I'll be stuck with dumb AI. Chris had to save her in this video even...
but, with that said, I didn't see anything wrong with this vid. The graphics look gorgeous, the gameplay looks solid, the monster looked kewl. Really...it looks a lot like the water monster you fight in Gears of War 2...except a hell of a lot better. GoW2 sea monster was easy as hell and barely posed...
keep being free and it is already better as far as I'm concerned. PSN doesn't lag for me so whatever. Hook up a game over Live or PSN and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
ooo Dead Space's last boss was also really impressive. Seems rare to have a really satisfying last boss fight but that game was definitely epic at the end.
so much for having to take a hit graphically to make the MP run as smooth as singleplayer.
Looks amazing. Still can't get over how kewl the wind effects make everything look. Get happy whenever I see someone throw a grenade so I can see how the wind ill blow the smoke.
well...that is how it works. A lot of the hate towards PS3 and Sony is based on lies and misinformation.
Can't count how many times I've read that no one plays PS3 online and PSN is too laggy. Funny, since I've never had any problem what-so-ever. Runs just as smooth as other online services.
nice to see MGS3 take top spot. Tho Big Boss wasn't the best boss fight in that game. Volgin was definitely the best fight. Well, several fights actually cuz he fight him a couple times.
As far as I'm concerned, tho, Shadow of Colossus could of filled the whole list.
Great score. But I do wish the scoring was CONSISTENT, for f*ck sakes.
9.5 for Gears. Gears is a wonderful game...no doubt. But it had broken, glitchy multiplayer and a crap story.
According to this review...Killzone 2 has a good story, GREAT multiplayer, is about as long as Gears 2. Then it does things graphically that no game has ever done...not even Crysis.
Yet it gets the same to lower points in graphics and then overall scores a 0.1 lower. I me...
Dead Space pretty much perfected a third person shooter control scheme (minus a cover system of course).
No reason to not learn from what is done well. I haven't played RE5 demo yet but there seems to be a lot of people whining about the controls. Personally I rarely get frustrated with control setups but it is easy to identify when a game does something to near perfection. Dead Space pretty damn near perfection throughout if you ask me.
