Eh? I beat every boss in singleplayer and normal difficulty and I assure you I am not an ace-player BY ANY MEANS AT ALL.
Tough true but nothing that the fact that your AI ally can revive you doesn't balance out.
More review trollage ahoy maties!
Perhaps one day N4G will get it's head out of it's proverbial rectum and hear our cries for some sort of public "Upvote/Downvote" system so we as the users can decide what's rubbish and what isn't.
Allowing none submitters to report BS links would also be a VERY logical move.
As for the game? Lovely! ESPECIALLY the weapons. Can't remember the last game I played where the weapons ...
More proof how out of touch modern reviews seem to be. I've sworn off them for months now and couldn't be happier.
Essentially they've become a vat of publicity stunts combined with opinion. If a reviewer can't step above personal preference and into pure technical aspects then they shouldn't be reviewing (or at least not scoring) at all.
Somehow the "oh they'll do our jobs for us" argument doesn't really improve my opinion of this choice.
While I'm tempted to agree......Most Wanted was a fantastic game. They got everything right with that one. Hell it still even looks better than the most recent ones but then Carbon came and everything went diagonal from there......
Like most I avoided this game due to the general response and boy was I surprised to find out how arse-facedly wrong that general response was.
In fact if anything proved reviewers give scores they're felt "compelled" (or paid) to give AP is probably it. The gameplay (on pc mind you) was great, controls okay, story and dialogue amazing, graphics above par and it is STILL UNMATCHED in terms of both gameplay and story variation in decision making. I have a friend...
Or the oldest goodie of them all to do it.
Dark Reign 2.
You live in an amazing alternate reality where a person's race determines the quality and style of game they can create?
I had more fun installing the game than I had I playing it.
Terrible games getting terrible sequels seems to be the theme of this decade.
Y U NO PSYCHONAUTS 2?! Baldurs Gate 3?! Planescape Torment 2?!? Y U TROLL ME DEVELOPERS?!
No but seriously now.
I adored Oni through and through.
I WILL be in the minority here (as both an older gamer aaaaand as someone able to judge the mood of these comments) but I'd take a new Oni ANYDAY over a new God of War or Gears of War.
The game had personality and a life of its own.
Once again an Alyx remodel successfully disappoints all people unfortunate enough to have eyes.
*Sigh* And yet these articles never go into the rampant console piracy do they?
Have they even been on a major torrent site? Console games are ALWAYS leaked earlier than PC games lately AAAAND don't have release date verification making them instantly playable. DA2 came out a week early on consoles, but I didn't see an article about that did I?
It's flamebait, plain and simple.
As someone who recently played the game............I was pleasantly surprised.
The game had odd pc related bugs admittedly, but otherwise I found it far more enjoyable than I was told I would by practically every review out there.
I'm amazed how the gentleman in the thumbnail was able to change races instantaneously! Clearly DX11's power is not to be trifled with!
GoG uses scammer style scare tactics like suddenly faking bankruptcy (no one remember this a few months back?).
Good products but TERRIBLE business ethics. I wouldn't trust those guys with a cent.
You make a solid point. I'd like to add a little to it however.
The real decline in my eyes is that beta tests have become marketing material. Giving away a beta invite with a pre-order or subscription or well, ANYTHING is non-sense. I miss the days where blockbuster titles had in-house long running betas (Blizzard still do this thankfully, but Blizzard don't currently milk us through the ass for DLC either) before even considering a invite-only beta.
...
Why do terrible games get so many sequels lately?
Give me Baldurs Gate 3, Planescape Torment 2....hell even just Psychonauts 2.
Have to agree there, replayed the game more times than I can count JUST to get to the space reunion scene where "Eyes on me" starts playing in the background..........and then there's that ending cutscene........*MANLY TEARS POUR FOURTH*
Most of PS3 games don't even exceed a dual layer DVD (as was proven by the recent cracking surge of ps3 titles onto the internets) and won't for some time. Most pcs don't use blu-ray either because if something is bigger than one disk..........my god..............we get 2 discs!
The "too big for the disc" is marketing mumbo put out there to try and justify DLC. Current-gen consoles have harddrives and those can easily make up for any format limitations b...
More delicious delicious flamebait.
Oh N4G when will you learn and implement a user voting system so we can filter fanboy raging content from all providers?
