yeah the average price of gears is probably closer to $60 so $240 million off of a game that cost 10million to make. i would say that is a pretty good return on investment. the good news is that devs will take notice that if they spend more time and make a great game they will get rewarded with great sales. sega i am looking at you, notice you don't see chrome hounds or sonic racking up millions of copies in sales. EA doesn't count they produce crap and still sell millions of copies.
you can't compare a game vs a demo, when i got the demo for saints row i was wondering why it didn't look like the screen shots. but when i bought the full game there were a ton of more trees the graphics were smoother and more polished. when the full game comes out on the 360 then they can compare.
thats odd because if you jump on XBL in the early afternoons there are a ton of europeans on there.
gears 2,, can't wait. GOW is a great game, most fun game i have played in a long time and it has captured my attention and playing time like no other game in quite awhile. there are a lot of other games i want to play but when i have time i always find myself playing gears (that should finally change in a few weeks when C&C3 comes out). of coarse if the rumors are true about new maps and possibly new weapons soon i will be right back to playing gears. every night i play gears (i have had ...
i don't think these comments sound bad. he is just saying they looked into it and decided it wasn't worth doing ($$$) or the hassle of dealing with what it will become.
wow sounds kinda cool. the thing with headphones is ( i wear them all the time playing pc games) that you can't hear any one if they are yelling for you, it would be cool to be able to crank up the tv or pc volume and not bother the entire house but not be unavailable to any other sounds.
how do you figure that, at retail a 360 premium is $399 + live gold $50 = $450, you get a HD, headset and all that stuff,, ps3 $600. $450 <$600
hmmm interesting, it does seem like a game more than a match making system. kinda seems like myspace/match.com meets the sims (winning formula btw!).
it doesn't excite me too much because i play games not meet new people, if i meet new people i want to chainsaw them. but i can see were some lonely dorks would be getting all excited about it. just remember most people who buy the ps3 are dudes no matter what character they have.
just remember everyone, although it does se...
me and 5 of my friends got ours at launch, all no problems.
Gears is an awsome game, i still play it play it at least 3-4 days a week. in terms of total sales though i don't think it will get dethroned until we see halo 3 which will desimate all.
thats not saying there aren't a ton of other awsome games, and yea i even had a fun play some of the burger king games, pocket bike racer with your friends is a blast. I have a ton of other games but i keep playing gears because chainsawing and headstomping people just is not getting old. I am ready fo...
by big ps3 game do you mean size wise (how big is it btw) or title wise?
yes but 5million people can be wrong because alot of the people who bought the wii (most not all) are not gamers and will not go out and buy alot of games where the big bucks are made, sorry but your mom and girlfried and not buying a game a month or every other month they are happy playing wii sports once or twice a month, but 360 and ps3 owners do. and it is cheaper lets face it it isn't hard for someone to go buy a wii. once the hype wears down there will be alot of wiis with dust on them ...
thats BS. they were sitting on the shelves here because not many people were buying them (sony did have good supply) you can tell by the fact the 360 beat out the ps3 in sales in january, monthly sales dicticate domination and the ps3 came in last for december and january. a console always sells a ton at launch, even bad ones. launch shipments always sell out so sony got on the board fast but now that we are past the launch and the systems are available it isn't out selling the 360 in the US ...
06 was fun online but i thought the controls were a little touchy. hope they fixed that.
you know if you want 360 fanboys to not start flaming a thread try not provoking them directly.
MS is taking a somewhat different approach this time though, instead of spending mega bucks on thousands of in house devs (they have the $$$ to do it) they crank out a few high profile games (like halo) and then work with other studios as the publishers which means they get exclusivity while constantly pulling other companies for new creative ideas (see Gears of War).
If look at all the PS2 games done by sony 85% of them are crap, boring and unoriginal. i would rather have 3 or 4 damn ...
"This exchange of ideas may serve to have us take a better look at ourselves, as buyers in the gaming retail industry. These GameStop employees deserve to be treated with more respect; after all, we get our gaming goodies, care of them."
I don't, i refuse to go to gamestop/eb games anymore. half of the crap these people get they deserve. now this guy is right retail does suck it doesn't matter what you are selling but gamestop is the worst. most of their employees fla...
i had this happen with both saints row and madden 2007 (on their release day). i went in the day it was released to buy it and they told me no because i had not pre-ordered. i asked if pre-orders took up their whole shipments and they said no. i hate gamestop/eb games so much. in both cases i walked across the street to target and picked up the game.
absolutly correct. This guy is a whack job, what he doesn't realize is that kids don't go into stores and buy GTA. Every kid i have ran across while playing gears of war i asked how they got the game and every single one had their parents buy it for them. GTA is the same way, no matter how they change the law the fact is most (not all but most) get the M rated games because their parents go get it for them. this is a parental issue not a legal one.
nfl 2k1 on the dreamcast was awsome, outside of graphics it is still better than madden 2007, less bugs, glitches etc..
