I agree with you completely. the only thing i would add is that to me the wii was not that fun unless you are at a drunk party. it is alot like the time before online consoles when the only way to play with your friends was to have them come over to your house. if you don't have someone over at your house to play the wii with you i found it really really dull. and without a decent online and voice set up that isn't likely to change anytime soon.

yeah this is a very nintendo fanboy site, i wonder if they even watched all 3 conferences. i would say MS and sony put on good shows, nintendos sucked it was over an hour of "we rock" and "your fat buy wii fit" and "mario this, mario that, kiddie games yeaaa"
i thought both MS and sony had good shows, they focused on games and showed games, yes there wasn't any huge unknown bombs in either but they both game consumers a real good idea of what to expect from them in the next 6-7 months.
Nintendos show sucked. yeah we got to see mario kart and some dates on games but their over all line up seemed rather week (and again kiddie) compared to MS and sony
i downloaded the demo last night and it rocked. i can't wait to play online with 15 other people in a big dog fight. i did notice that about the city when you got below 1000 ft also but remember it is a demo (and a rather small one at 300meg). one thing i have learned about demos is the graphics in them are close but not the same as the game. when the demo for saints row for example came out the graphics were ok but when i bought the game i noticed a HUGE difference. they cut alot of graphic ...
is it just me or were the majority of the games sony showed mostly shooters (albeit with nice graphics), isn't that whay sony people usually compain of on the xbox, lots of shooters with nothing new or ground breaking in terms of gameplay.
at least this year sony showed some gameplay in their games, of coarse MS actually came out and played most of theirs onstage.
the psp stuff was pretty cool, again i was sorely dissapointed in the mgs trailer, i mean come on in engine or not WTF is with all the damn cut scenes, are they making a game or a movie. give us a hud and run around shooting people (ie actually playing the game). hell even though there wasn't someone demo-ing it at least you saw actual game play footage from killzone
i highly doubt it is mgs related, it is probably a brand new game or a next gen version of one of their classics. i am willing to bet it is not mgs related
the good news is did you listen to the developers when they were playing it, they laughed which means they are aware of those bugs and will hopefully fix them before it ships.
yeah i haven't been a huge fan of the COD series but damn did COD4 look SWEET. as for the killzone thing i thought it looked great (just about as good as gears of war) but i did notice it lacked any kind of color, they game is damn near in black and white the only color in it was dark greys and dark greens.
looks fantastic, the only thing that would make it cooler is if it had an online mmo componant
i can tell you it is fresh stock, it took me 2 weeks of hardcore looking to find an elite, they were no where to be found in june, there is huge demand for the elite (as well there should be).

one thing to also consider is money coming in and the fact that MS has been making money with every console sold for awhile now. when halo3 drops since MS owns bungie they don't have the share that money with anyone (unlike gears where they shared with epic). halo3 is like 300-500 million dollars in the bank on top of the fact they will be getting another revenue stream when iptv rolls out.

this game looks really cool for family get togethers or drunken parties. getting the wireless controllers for it with the game is awsome. they didn't mention though if you could challenge other people over xbox live with it
