This game wouldn't come out for another 10 years of it wasn't broken down into a few individual games.
That's the positive side.
Am I happy about it? No, but I understand it.
Each installment is going to be it's own game, though.
Waiting to buy all 3 would be like waiting a decade until the XIII trilogy was complete and buying all 3 games at once.
Exactly. It's mind blowing how people keep spreading this false information.
It's going to be a full length game with sequels. In the end, it will have told the ENTIRE story of FF7, including new things they couldn't fit into the original game.
It's sad how a few websites spread false info and everyone eats it up.
Once again, an article saying episodic release although this was never mentioned anywhere.
It's baffling to see "media" and comments here continuously spread the false knowledge of episodic releases.
Is it ignorance? Stupidity? Hatred? I can't tell.
Same here, buddy. Same here. (And the Weapons)
Not episodic.
Confirmed to be released with full game sequels, not episodes. Each installment and sequel will have as much content as a full game in itself. In the end, it will have more content than the original game. The true vision they had for it. (The creator's words, not mine)
Thank you. Thank you for being reasonable.
Although, I do feel like they're splitting it up so we can start playing the game now and get the sequels later. Instead of waiting until 2026 to release the full, finished game in one piece.
Except you can't. Only select games from a list.
I own both consoles, btw. I'm just not a blind fanboy. Not saying you necessarily are either. I just know xbots will attack me saying I'm a "sony pony".
It's not about that.
It's about letting us play the game in 2017 - 2018 instead of 2028.
This game is massive. They don't want to wait a decade for people to play it.
Of course, I'd rather have it all released at once but any reasonable person can understand this. Well anyone with reason and a slight understanding on how video games are made...which doesn't seem to be many people.
@yetter
But it's not episodic tho...already confirmed not to be
@KableNinja
Just ignore them. FF7 is my favorite game of all time and I agree with you. Don't let the petty vocal minority make it seem like this is how most people feel
It's not. I have many friends who love FF7 and are looking at this reasonably.
It's already been confirmed it's not episodic, so anyone saying that just isn't doing research or is trying to bring it down.
While I'm not extremely happy that it&...
It's insane how many people, even large sites like Kotaku, jumped on the episodic bandwagon when literally no one said anything like that.
Now that it's been confirmed it will NOT be episodic, but rather have sequels...I hope everyone learned not to jump to conclusions.
Even now, in this very comment section, people are still calling it episodic even though we know it's not.
It's easy to point out the crazies by just looking a...
Dude, you act like the original FF7 was so strategic. It wasn't.
You need hp? Cast cure. You need a lightning attack? Thundaga. You need to whoop serious ass? KOTR.
It wasn't THAT intense. It's my favorite game of all time, I've beaten it more times than I can count. You're blowing this way out of proportion.
You know what sounds intense? Digging through those same menus (which we saw in the gameplay reveal) while running...
The PR send out has been elaborated on already.
This will not be episodic. It will be a game with multiple sequels.
FF7 - 1, FF 7 - 2, etc
Each release is going to be a full game.
Don't worry, we're not getting a tell tale type release here. We're getting more FF7 then we ever could have imagined.
"More content than the original game" as stated in the Famitsu interview.
Don't worry, it's not episodic.
That was just journalistic sensationalism.
It's already been confirmed this will not be released in episodic format.
But it's not episodic...
Why are people still saying this?
I know :(
I legit couldn't sleep last night because of the sensational "episodic" headlines.
Glad to see the media just assumed and jumped to conclusions (per usual) and the game is not episodic.
They've already answered the "why"
The game will take 10 years to finish as a single release.
This way, they can have us playing the game earlier while they finish the rest.
Not saying this is good or bad, but just an answer to the "why"
But it's not episodic...
Soooo...yea
I'm sorry, but turned based games are rarely ever a "chess match" and this is coming from someone who loves turn based games.
FF7 is my favorite game ever but let's not pretend like the turn based battles were filled with deep strategy and chess like planning.
You need hp? Cure. You need to do magic damage? Thundaga. Wanna tear the building down? KOTR.
I don't understand how the new system is easier when you have the same...
