This used to be one of my favorite series but it's become extremely stale. Something new would be refreshing.
Agreed. I loved the Witcher 3 but it was a basic rpg with mediocre combat and generic story. I enjoyed it but it's crazy overhyped.
Amazing battle system?
Every fight was the same unless you were forced to use certain tactics. All you had to do was spam attack and roll every once in a while. Battle system was mediocre at best.
Same with the story. Pretty generic.
It's strong points were it's characters, open world and length (even tho a lot of it is busy work).
I'm glad it's your favorite game. But by no means has an amazing battle system ...

Not sure if it's just a young generation or what but the Witcher 3 is incredibly overhyped.
I loved the game. It was great fun with lots of content.
But it was buggy as all hell, generic story, mediocre battle system and tons of pointless busy work.

What? FF7 is my favorite game of all time and the battles were it's weakest point, imo. The battle gameplay definitely is not what made this game so popular. You're straight up delusional if you think so.
It was the unique characters, story, setting, etc. This game is not so popular because of the battle system. Just look at all of the famdom online. The battle system is barely talked about outside of materia. What you know people alway...

No, they're multi part series. Each installment being a full game. Exactly how FF7 remake has been explained to be.

Yes, they do. I've had multiple friends who worked at Gamestop and did this constantly.
Employee copies would be given to the workers to become knowledgeable on certain games. After playing, they would be repackaged as new games.

Game is going to split up into multiple full game titles...think Mass Effect 1, 2, 3...FF13 - 1, 2, 3...etc
To remake the entirety of FF7 plus new content would be a 10 year development plan.
FF13 and it's installments took the entire lifetime of the ps3 to be released and they have nowhere near as much content as 7.
