I'm used to Europe getting boned, but now it's everyone but North America. Strangely I'm not all that surprised.
Their reputation has certainly taken a hit in recent years, what with shoddy coding, giving the finger to all besides Microsoft and abysmal PR.
I'm intrigued as to what excuses they will use next generation for their poor coding abilities or lack of interest in whatever they shun at the time.
I believe it's too late for them to salvage their reputation before the next generation gets into full swing.
2015 will be way too late considering it'll be well into the Wii U life cycle and 18 months to 2 years past the suspected NextBox release. I would like to assume that Sony aren't that stupid, surely. Also consider that whatever PS4 turns out to be it's not likely to be leaps and bounds above the competition. Like you said, they are in financial difficulties, they can't afford to take huge risks on pricing.
As for the Vita....Well! I blame the gaming media for ...
I think developers and publishers complain too much. If new hardware is that easy and affordable to produce, then why aren't they doing it?
The simple truth is, they know that they can release any old crap on a new system at it'll sell. Whereas right now they are having to work harder to make something that people want.
Whatever happened to developing for the love of it? oh yeah, it's now known as the Indie scene. Sadly everywhere else has degrade...
*Rubs eyes* Still says it's from Kotaku?...........Of course, it's the end of the world in less than a month. Explanation discovered, no need to panic, nothing to see here!
Why? As has already been said, the story is already there, and it's not bad.....So again, why?
Moved on, don't care any more.
Reminds me of the time my Honda Civic broke down and I blamed Ford. Funny old world huh? s/
I have a PC, PS3 and a Wii as well as many others. The Wii was a short lived novelty to me and everybody I know with one. As for the Wii U, I'm not even remotely interested right now. Also as I've mentioned on another story, there is zero buzz for the Wii U where I work (a well known college in Birmingham, UK) and there hasn't been a whisper about it where my son attends school. This is unheard of when it comes to new hardware.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to wait and see before making predictions like this.
Many are suggesting that it'll match the Wii's success. The only way that is going to happen is if the casuals who were sold on the wii can be convinced to make the leap. Can't see it happening myself as it appears most of them have been enchanted by the chuffin' iPad.
Without the casuals Nintendo have to rely on the rest. Nintendo fans are a given, but I imagi...
Where to start..............?
How can you be so sure it's going to do well?
At the college where I work and the school that my son attends there is zero buzz about the Wii U, whether it be children, teenagers or adults. Which is a complete U-turn from what I saw with the Wii, DS, 3DS, PS3, Xbox360 and PSP.
I'm not saying it's DOA like many would suggest, but it certainly doesn't look to have the same appeal that the original Wii had.
Aaaaaaand breathe!
I'm not defending either, but they could at least try and match the contrast between the two for an even comparison.
All this says to me is that some devs are never happy and are not up to a challenge.
I'd love to see how some of these coders would get on with an Atari 2600 or a Sinclair ZX Spectrum and get the results that some devs got on them.
If any of their recent comments are anything to go by, they are also working on ways to make development more expensive.
If your preference is Ios, then no.
If your preference is Android, then yes.
The question is irrelevant, the competition is between Apple and Android.
Let's call it what it is, indirect marketing by Activision engineered to look like a leak. Completely transparent in my opinion. For starters, any voice actor would be under contract to keep their mouth shut to the public or media unless otherwise instructed, and I don't think any of them would want to be on the receiving end of an Activision lawsuit for a little voice work.
Just confirms my suspicions that there is no imagination left at Infinity Ward or Activision.
Modern Warfare has had it's fair share of knocks, but if this goes even minutely wrong it'll become a laughing stock.
I assume they want to continue with Price, fair enough, but start a new story arc with a new title. Everybody knows it'll sell on the Call of Duty name alone. You could call it Call of Duty: Sparkly Vampires and it'll still sell like...
Maybe wise to wait till after Dead Space 3 releases before making premature predictions like this.
So far Dead Space 3 isn't looking likely to do very well considering how far it appears to be straying from its survival horror roots into a generic co-op shooter.
