Her main was a NE Druid.
Yeah. I was talking about "real" games. From CoD to DOTA/LoL/Starcraft...
I know lots of young women who play video games really WELL. Even in my raiding guild in WoW, we had a part-time model... Stereotypes that only boys play games belong back to the 90s.
Agree.
As an early adopted of both consoles and now on my second version of both consoles as well:
-XBox is a much better experience overall in terms of menus, online, browsing XBox Live, keeping a friend's list. Plus I find the controller a tad better. Achievements feel a little bit "better" used than trophies and got me engaged more into thinking "I will get the X game on a 360 since they play the same just for APs".
It has some great (for me...
@Matts , @Slapshot82
Thanks! :-) I try to be neutral and nonsubjective to my comments. I always try to speak as a software developer and someone who used to want to work in the game industry. Unfortunately some people disagree/ bubble me and other people down without any reasons...
I agree with both you. Wii U could be a sold out by now if it was lunch at a different period. I believe in the long run, it will be a win for Nintendo. People who bough just a Wii...
Not a comment to the actual article but to you Chris:
Respect for replying to N4G and identifying yourself as the author of the article.
Most authors would just "defend" their articles and POVs acting as third parties...
As for the article:
Well I know in the UK just three weeks after WiiU lunch, there was a 60 pounds off deal at ebay for Christmas and unlike most ebay deals that time, this wasn't sold out for the two weeks it was up! D...
@ElectricKaibutsu
Just some people are closed minded, fanboys, who want to defend "their" brands... People fail to understand: Corporation invest R&D in order to launch new products, improve existing ones and get the attention of the media. All they want at the end is profit, not to innovate! The only people who wanted to innovate at the first place are either idle/part-time developers and academic stuff who does the initial research.
Pirates of...
@Pixelsword
Agree with you about MS. Just a small correction:
Windows don't come from IBM. Bill Gates in 1981 sold to IBM with an initial fee and licence fees per unit (a unique agreement for that time) for an OS they didn't have! After the meeting and getting the initial money, MS bought QDOS from a local programmer, edited it in IBM 's specifications and launched MS-DOS 1.0 in August 81... Now the idea for a GUI (Graphical User Interface) built on-top of...
4K is way better in the long run. Small monitors, laptops, etc can take advantage of it. Illumiroom sounds cool, but you need:
-A projector.
-Kinect, which means a mandatory usage of MS technology.
-Space to set it up and walls to display on.
While with 4K all you need is a monitor and a source with the supporting resolution. Because we are talking about resolution increase, companies like Samsung, LG, etc do not really have to licence anything, expect...
In consoles the problem isn't piracy, it is second-hand sales, publishers and developers loose money from game rentals and second-hand sales.
A such technology, may attract more developers into implementing exclusives or add extra content to PS4 games, as it will help them increase their revenues.
I said the same thing last year. This year I only bought Halo on release date due to a pretty good deal with a 360 I found. Now I bought Hitman, Far Cry 3 for 42 pounds together. Hitman alone two weeks ago was 38... ^^
@Torchic
I doubt the decision was an easy one... but look at the industry now. All studios are "forced" to work with publishers to bear the increasingly costs. The only ones not working with publishers, are indie games who sell cheap, "small", less graphical-savy games... The industry as an industry sucks compare it's former "glory"....
Am I the only one who found Resistance 2 the best in the series? 3 was solid, but the ending was rushed... plus I enjoyed R2 Multiplayer a lot more than 3.
I agree with what you said. MGS4 is more like a 2nd party game to Sony than a 3rd party.
Just a small note: Actually Apple and MS are good buddies behind the scenes ;-) They licence each other patents...
Yes you are right. In hardware everyone talks in bytes multiples.
Only in networks and some really hardcore programming stuff we still talk in bits ;-)
Just the article writer is either a troll or someone who wants to promote his site through trolling.
I am into IT industry for 10+ years now, never heard anyone describing hardware with "bits" instead of "bytes" other than some really old articles (end of 80s).... Just the original writer got confused and wrote Gb instead of GB, no big deal, happens frequently.
@Dir_en_grey
Due to fair global trade laws, it isn't illegal to import games, etc etc. However is some countries where a game is banned or under different rating, it is "illegal" to use it. Depends on the ban and the law system of the country. It all comes down to the legal system of the country and how the ban was enforced.
For buying online games through digital marketplace: Depends on the marketplaces ToA. Normally as you register to the marketplace,...
There are legal issues (e.g. money back laws in EU for digital services ,compare to US, Japan, etc).
Moreover Sony operates as a different legal entity in each reason. Extreme example: Sony Entertainment Europe goes bankrupt, banks can go to seize SEE assets but can not touch anything owned by Sony Entertainment America! Plus it is better for Sony to distribute financial risks, costs, taxes, etc etc...
Microsoft does the same thing. This is way XBox Live! Marketplace is someti...

As a freelancer software engineer I know fora fact that most businesses won't adopt Win8 anytime soon. The costs of upgrading and most importantly training personnel for the new UI that Win8 uses is far greater than the advantages over Win7. Even people in the IT industry switch to OS X/ Linux. There is a decline in the PC industry.
For MS Surface, at the current price it won't be a blockbuster. The price isn't competitive enough to compete wi...
AC and Halo are popular as well! Personally I believe they worth more than CoD... but would take a game such as Starhawk, Uncharted for consoles or Guild Wars 2, hell even Lego Batman 2 over them anyday!
@Kamikaze135
I personally don't like EA business practises at all. However in this case, they are right. Many companies include in their ToS when you agree to beta test them that you are "obligated" to report bugs. Even in MMOs if you find a bug and do not report it, but instead use it for whanever advantage or fun, it can be bannable.
I did beta testing for EA last year, in their Guildford HQ for just two seasons and alongside with the NDA, th...
