hUMA is just an implementation of HSA without interfering with the rest of von newman architecture.
A better understanding of hUMA: http://www.notebookreview.c...
Now HSA IS a standard, where a uniform memory pool is implemented for both the CPU AND GPU. HSA main idea is to allow the GPU to get CPU privileges, as so far the GPU couldn't access...
Just find AMD's APUs architecture overview and then the HSA standards...
Both consoles under HSA got their GPUs inside the APUs. That is the purpose of the APU in the first place...
And before someone refers to some articles saying XBOne doesn't have HSA/hUMA:
HSA IS part of the Jaguar APU architecture and in extended, an evolution of the more traditional X86-64 architecture the APUs are based on.
None of the two consoles got hUMA, as...
I wonder how much of what you just said, mean something to you other than numbers...
Unpaid internships in the first place are illegal in the UK... The law clearly states the moment you do a set tasks, during a fixed set of hours you are entitled for a salary for your work.
There isn't an "unpaid" internship. Based on UK's employment law they are illegal.
More info: http://www.internaware.org/
Based on UK law, if you are doing a set tasks, work in fixed hours, report to someone else then you are consider an employee for the organisation and you are entitled for the minimum wage.
I don't know where you get the 90% from, but when I was searching for interns all of them were paid.

Halo 2 is still my favourite FPS MP game. Mainly due to the memories I got from 8 and 12 players system-link parties...
With that said just to comment on your article:
It is a good read, but I wouldn't count out 343 yet. Sure Halo 4 wasn't great as the previous ones, but it is still fun. They added more game-modes, without perks, which makes the whole game feel more and more Halo to me.
343 is still learning, it is their first game afterall; ...
Dead Rising 2 is recent!
^To some people above:
HSA is part of the Jaguar APUs' architecture. There isn't ANY way the XBox could have a Jaguar-based APU and not HSA. HSA specifications are set by the HSA Foundation: http://hsafoundation.com/st...

If you are asking my source about PSL not using DX11.2, MS announced that 11.2 will be Win8 and XBOne exclusive and they double confirmed that in their dev sessions for DX11.2.

@MusicComposer
Counting cores, etc in Computer Science to determine performance is the biggest mistake you can do and one of the first things that they clarify in any Data Structures and Algorithms University module. Instead we use notations, such as the Big-Oh, etc.
Examples that prove the above:
-When Quad cores CPUs came out, the actually performed worse than Dual Core CPUs.
-SLI/Crossfire scalability isn't ideal (i.e. a x2 multiply) an...
@LostDjinn
Thanks :)
I see what you mean. In my blog, I tried to separate hardware from software in order not to confuse people.
For the problems you mentioned, as I said it will depend on how much access dev will have or how good the OS will be.
In my opinion the best thing is to load static environments; Static environments won't change as much as let's say the main character's model. This can reduce the bandwi...
The eSRAM isn't exactly a memory pool. Think of it like an mSATA drive and an HDD. The eSRAM sits between the memory pool and the APU, allowing quickly access to frequently written. For the user it is like the eSRAM is never there. That is why I said it will depend how effective XBOne's OS will be at adding resources to the eSRAM or whanever devs will actually get the low level access to do that allocation themselves.
The AMD hardware is optimised for both DX and Open...
Sharing a single memory pool is defined by the HSA, part of the APU CPU architecture. A single memory pool is something both consoles have and access to it is defined by the APU.
HUMA is more or a less the implementation of HSA's share memory pool in PCs with the traditional von Newman architecture.
The eSRAM, whenever the RAM is DDR3 or whatever else have NOTHING to do with it. In a way neither PS4 nor XBOne got hUMA, as the common memory pool is defin...
HUMA is part of the APU design. Both XBone and PS4 got it.
Hello, the new APUs from AMD got a limited implementation of HUMA. It isn't exactly the same as the console one, but nether the less, great performance boost. Check out tomshardware. They got a nice article about it.
I am doing software development for some time now and found Windows 8 much easier to navigate around. In fact I know prefer using Win8 over OS X and Linux.
Why should a simply menu define you? Back in <WIndows 95, we didn't have start menus, OS X doesn't have one... same with GTK+ (GNOME) UIs in Linux...
If you are a tech savy person, then the UI and the platform shouldn't be a problem...
Better marketing for AMD, as definitely they got agreements with AMD.
I doubt a single 7990 or a GTX 780 will have any trouble running it on Ultra.
I got friends working at Lionhead and they are near my office. They indeed got a few titles at reaaally early work stages, most of the studio is doing nothing.
Some employees even left a couple of months ago to start a new indie studio..
I hope I am wrong or that my friends due to their NDAs couldn't say more, but I doubt we will see a Lionhead game anytime soon -unless they really rush it.
They are indeed, but 4600 for a 3-months intern aren't great either.
From what I remember some years ago, when I was a student: Banks offer £2500-3000 a month, while the least paid internships in international organisations I know (in IBM and Microsoft) get paid around 1400 a month.
With his legal fees and troubles, he could claim much more... but still better than nothing! And it is a big victory for undergrads students who are/will be looking for ...
