I am playing on the beta... I have to say the game is really fun! Looks and plays better than the original...

They do, but actually the rich people in China, love Japanese products as they have no trouble affording them (more than 1 million millionaires at China). I recall from my Uni days, we had lots of Chinese students, all them with a Nikon/ Canon dSLR, a Sony Vaio or an Apple Macbook and a Wii/PS3 as their console...
They like "in-fashion" stuff they know/ heard about. Nintendo and Playstation brand names are much stronger in Asian cou...
I don't agree with your last line "The sooner they exit the gaming industry, the better."
The more competition there is within the industry, the better it will be for us, consumers. More competition means price cuts, innovation to include additional features, etc etc..
Imagine if only Nintendo or Sony or X company was the only console manufacture....
And the video of the player watching his ship being destroyed...
Technically speaking they are, but they get away by "giving" the option of declining installation and having them listed in the ToA of the original software.
There were some large scale cases against Microsoft and their bundle software by both EU Court and US Government and the same principles from the case should apply to smaller software as well.
I think there is a case against mobile bloatware.
@59fifty
I agree with you about PS3 UI. Their back-end OSes are solid, stable, but their UI design is awful.
I think Sony lately changed their design team, as their phone's UI, PS Store and now PS4''s UI are waaaaay better -following a more "flat" and yet "colourful" approach.
@justastranger10
FreeBSD 9 is not a Sony developed OS. FreeBSD is in development for years, by the BSD community, as a complete open-source OS (kernel code is kept on same SVN repo as the rest of the code, unlike Linux distributions).
It is one of the most secure and reliable OSes when it comes to networking functions, with lots of derivatives used by companies for internal and external products. A good example is Nokia's firewall, Panasonic's TVs, e...
They had some interesting games, even if the most I am personally interested to are multiplats.
I wouldn't mind getting it alongside a PS4, if it wasn't for the DRM. It is up to us the people to stop this DRM nonsense...
PS3 meets PS2? The design looks like a fat PS3 slim with the blue line design and more "strict", straight lines of PS2...
Personally I want multi-plat MMOs with cross-plat, in order to avoid "dead servers"... However since one of the biggest MMOs dev out there is SOE, if any (other the ones confirmed) MMOs are coming to consoles they will be PS4-PC exclusive. Maybe Blizz will release their next project Titan to consoles as well.
It depends if Microsoft will open Live! to devs the same way Sony did with PSN...
Guild Wars 2 for consoles will be interesting. The controls...
They got AppleTV for some time now. If the open the SDK for AppleTV app development, they will get games over there as well...
Don't forget Apple has one of the biggest ecosystems for media out there. People already invested a lot in iTunes, some people got whole collections of movies/ TV shows bought in iTunes and they would love to stream/ play them in their TVs without having to re-purchase them in Microsoft Store.
People, even in the IT industry, buy Apple products as they are already tied into the ecosystem and/for other features...
Yes marketing plays importance, nowadays m...
Actually one of the reasons behind X-Box 360 name was that (a MS executive said that in an interview ages ago), that PS3 had that "3" and made X-Box 2 sound older and less-powerful. Afterwards they came up with the idea that it is called 360 as it's a system build around the game...
^OneAboveAll They didn't have an hour slot, the event was in their campus. They theoretically had an infinity number of hours to present stuff if they wanted. Hopefully in E3 they will do so, as strong competition is good for all gamers ;-)
^people above
Think positive. It is better to see a sequel late than never or being badly made in order to milk some money...
Personally I prefer to see Half Life 3 only when Valve believes it is ready and a true successor.
The font and colours used reminds me the overall design approach for Windows 8 and Windows 8 Mobile logos, menus, etc... It is logical that MS will try to promote their new "look" in all their platforms/ services.
Don't forgot money coming from DLCs, PS Passes and indirectly: from selling toys, royalties from strategy guides,shops exclusivity in DLCs/ collector's editions and finally PS3 systems sold...
He is better than Apple's Siri and Google's Google Now!
Next time ;-)
Dunno about their crashes, but playing on the beta for over a month now, the game felt polished.
Only "major" bug I encounter, the game reset my resolution twice for no reason -but not my other graphic settings.
In any case, can't wait to get off work and start playing it properly!
