So the new AC is all about the "unity" of DLCs? To get 100% of the game you need to preorder it from multiple retailers, get all versions of the game and buy three cans of shaving gel?
The Many vs 1 can be quite fun. I remember having a blast in LANs with Halo 2's "Predator mode". But that was friends, not random people on the internet. With the later you get people leaving, not cooperating, etc which can be a game-breaker.
It just has to be executed right, as balancing can be tricky.
In my limited experience with Evolve: If you spot the monster first you can win quite easily, if the monster manages to get to phase 3, it will ...
Based on this: http://www.kitguru.net/gami... and other similar articles, plus Wikipedia, Evolve has a SP...
Based on my experience on the alpha:
It is a quite fun game to play with friends, but the price isn't right. It should be around 13-14 pounds for the PC version and 20 tops for the console versions.
The SP campaign I guess will be "complimentary" as the game is clearly MP-focused. I doubt it will look anything other than a forced mode based on the already repetitive repetitive MP with bots. I guess it is there only to justify the full-price for PC/consol...
Definitely agree.
Day one DLCs and pre-order bonuses need to be dropped. I stopped pre-ordering due to them.
Look at Far Cry 4, comes with a "big-ass harpoon" day-one pre-order bonus DLC. So if I don't pre-order the game, I won't have access to an item already included in the game?! That kinda gives me a disadvantage or at least removes a tiny bit from my experience, doesn't it? Then again with the same game, if you want to play multipl...
You should buy what you feel like it is the best for you and not what the X or Y guy thinks. See what consoles your friends will get if you care about playing online, see what exclusives you want to play more, etc.
In both cases in my view you do compromises, whenever that is a bit of extra resolution on multiplat or weaker online-services. The main issue having to choose is not having access to those quite nice exclusives that both consoles offer.
Just don...
As a software developer myself I can assure you from my network of friends, that Sony has software teams in the UK, Japan and US. They are doing everything from low-level C programming to high-end Java programming.
From what some colleagues of mine told me:
The problem with Sony in terms of software development is that they don't pay as good -not that MS or any of the big names pays much more- as other companies do and with the recent restructuring they are reorgi...
@4Sh0w
Indeed, people ignore the written review and just compare plain numbers. Indie games are scored on their own scale, small downloadable games ala Goat Simulator are scored on their own and AAA games are scored on their own.
Problem with thriller/horror games not many people are really into them, especially when they aren't FPS-oriented like Doom is. Thus it maybe harder for gaming site/ magazine to find a reviewer into it and rate it appropriate. In case of ...
Different genres. Their scores aren't directly comparable. It will be like comparing this with WoW or StarCraft or Amnesia or <insert X different game here>.
IMO Alien is an 8. I haven't played Sunset yet to rate, but from the videos it looks like an 8.5-9 for ME. Different people like different games/genres more.
Insomniac and Naughty Dog got a long history together since the early days of PlayStation, back when they were located on the same building.
Their games used to include demos of each other's games and both always had easter eggs and references. Heck they even shared code in their engines.
If they shared designs for the OD and bloaters or Insomniac "copied" Naughty Dog, it was done on purpose mainly to satire TLOUS. Afterall Sunset is all about making fun pop and ...
Don't forget No Man Sky is also coming to a PC...
Both consoles are loosing exclusives and will keep loosing them. Games dev costs are getting higher and higher, making exclusivity not financially viable.
Sony will try to keep their exclusives as exclusives, while MS won't mind publishing PC+XBOne, as it is a win-win for MS. Having more games into DX instead of OpenGL in PC, means less chances OpenGL OSes such as SteamOS, OS X and Linux gaming will ...
It wasn't a bad game. I would say it is worth £20-25, but not more than that.
It isn't a "wow!" game ala MGS4, Last of Us, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake or Halo (for me at least), but not necessarily a bad one, especially at the right price.
Will get for PC as well.
@MysticStrummer
The issue is that most people read one thing on the net and keep it going in comments/ posts.
I.e. The Internet Explorer is nowhere as slow as it used to be now, but still people make jokes how slow it is.
For me Ubisoft and Zenimax-Bethesda are the worst publishers.
The first for all the extra DLCs, pre-order bonuses, various editions and yearly franchises. The second for being the company that brought us in-disc an...
I think Activision Blizzard is the biggest publisher nowadays.
What I don't get is that people vote EA "worst company" over banks, oil companies, law firms, patent trolls, etc etc... and people seems to forget that micro-transactions, season passes and DLCs were not EA's original ideas. Ubisoft and their million pre-order bonuses/editions is as bad, if not worse than EA in my eyes.
Choice = less potential revenue. Sony, Microsoft, etc are all companies.
For me the £20 annual fee sounds about OK! It means I can sell my Fifa 14 copy for £20-25 and with that money get the subscription for "free" for a year, without loosing access to Fifa.
The real question is: Will it be a good value a year after? Will they add more games to the vault? I wouldn't mind waiting 8-12 months for a game to "enter the vault collecti...
@Death:
The EA's Vault is $30 (£20) per year. Half the price of the B4. Plus you get discounts on DLCs.
Imo the price is right, as long as they put some context.
I'll get it, £20 is simply one less fancy burger next time I 'm in London or I'll simply sell my FIFA 14 disc. I just hope E.A will support this properly and add titles
It won't be 100K extra copies. However I belive Activision is playing their game right.
Activision knows that more wealthy PC gamers will never stick to one system if they want the X game. By getting Destiny on consoles only at launch, it will make PC gamers get a console. This way this way they increase next-gen console sales.
A few months after they release the game for PC, PC gamers who got it on a console, will re-buy this. Mainly for that extra DLC, ...
I don't remember resolution to be an issue.
Other than the 3-red lights it was about graphics, originally multiplats on 360 and then when they started looking the same people stopped and started fighting about features like Kinect, PSN down, Live subscription, etc etc... The press was pretty much picking up whatever they could.
Now it is resolution. Mostly because press can show differences easier, get more clicks and thus more revenue.
If the game is getting released on August, it means it is code-complete from May max. Now they probably do integration and validation testing. The only code changes will be bug fixing or if something reaaaally bad comes out from their validation testing.
TBH Diablo graphics aren't demanding, even without June's SDK, XBOne should play it at 1080P. One of the few games my rMBP can play at full 3K resolution just fine.
It isn't spending 3-4 pounds for the cans, but the idea of the additional DLC that annoys me. It is like collectors editions, pre-order bonuses, retailers exclusive bonuses, platform specific DLC, etc weren't "enough"...
