I'd say an equal if not bigger problem is the non-removable hard drive. The Xbox will no longer function with out it.
I think the point is why should you have to buy a new headset at all?
Why can't they just use Bluetooth or USB or even Mini jack then no one would have to buy a new headset. Proprietary ports are just a scam to make people buy new things, making perfectly viable items obsolete.
This is 100% rip off.
It would be funny if it didn't actually come with a controller. After all it does have Kinect.
I know what your saying Phil. My boss is also the greatest person ever, a real humanitarian.
Windows 8 is the most closed version of Windows to date. Most people agree that the direction Microsoft wants to move is towards a more ap based system where they can control what makes it onto there system like Google and Apple.
Anyone got a tool?
Awesome proprietary BS to jack up the price and force you to re-buy something you already own. F that.
The game is required to be registered to your xbox account. Which your console will have to go on-line to complete. At that point anyone else who tries to use the same disk to register the disk will have to pay a fee, which will probably be full price.
You can't even fully install a game with out connecting to the internet. And you also have to go online to register your game to your account.
Its ridiculous to me anyone is still trying grasp to some sort of hope that it's not going to block used games and that you won't be required to have an internet connection.
It's as simple as this, if the console registers your game to your account, it's always online and blocks used games.
No they won't. This is a stalling tactic.
"0box' will block used game sales.
The money and agreements made with publishers will not allow them to deviate from the course they have already agreed to in backroom deals.
Unfortunately the "grand mass" of humanity is seemingly unable to see what the future holds even when it's blatantly obvious. Sadly it's not just gaming this is a problem for.
Forbes may be the most biased publication ever to review this.
These guys have huge sums of real money invested in Microsoft, of course their going to try to push their own product.
Forbes may as well be called "Microsoft Magazine" when it comes to something like this.
I'd like to know how many Microsoft execs actually use this thing to change there TV channels. Because I doubt many of them would dance around like a jackass just to change the channel in front of their millionaire peers.
There are no games that I would buy it for.
If I had to bet on anything regarding live the only things I'd bet on are higher prices and more ads.
Well what if your playing a kinetic game or a game that recognizes voice commands, how do you chat w/o giving stray commands to the Kinect? And who wants to hear the dog barking in the wide angle microphone it has to have?
Kinect is so dumb, it seems good on paper but in reality so many aspects are just totally flawed. It's never going to be the best way to chat or play games.
I don't care, I haven't bought an EA game since ME2.
I'm not buying any of there timed exclusive BS on "One", I'm not going to buy there products on PS4, and I sure as hell and not buying into any Origin BS either.
W/E, i'm not buying it.
It's standard Microsoft policy, sell the consumer the product they want them to have, not the product they want.
Even when they get huge amounts of negative feedback they don't listen and just do what they want.
The internal HD stores the OS, if that fails your Xbox will not work. Adding a external will not solve that problem.
