Isn't it funny that the one MGS title not directed by Kojima got canned (technically atleast)?
Well this proves one thing about Kojima Productions. They absolutely cannot make (or even finish) a Metal Gear title without MAJOR contribution from Kojima himself.
I'm not saying they aren't talented(as they obviously are), just that Kojima HAS to be at the helm of a MGS game.
It's a shame too, The original vision for the game looke...
That was my first thought after reading the title. "So those rumors were true..."
@grzajabarkus
There's this video on the teaser site about a parasitic fungus. It's uses footage of ants and stuff.
Off Topic : The video actually isn't made by Sony as I actually saw a longer version of the exact video in high school. The interesting part is that any animal can be affected by this(In theory anyway.)
Well, I def agree about day one DLC. And if that's the way they plan to cut down development time then I agree that that could become a issue.
I'm hoping that that they simple mean that they could develop the games faster from here on out.(if true, we might actually see a KH3 soon.) Instead of them meaning that they will take a short cut and try to nickle and dime their fanbase.
I know it's probably foolish, but I have faith that SE mean the for...
Actually I'd say they've got the right idea here. 4-5 years for a single game is ridiculous. (Versus might even push 6).
Especially since XIII-2 proves that they could have one out in half the time.
And as far as releasing games in between. The only problem with that is that all of their best people and resources are usually working on the FF's titles. So it still comes back to dev times that are way to long.
@Wintersun
I guess I get where you're coming from but, isn't controlling all three characters a little bit much, considering the pace of the battles in the game?
I'm not saying it's a bad idea, as that's kind of closer to how the older games worked. I just don't think it'd work with FF13's cinematic still of gameplay.
Edit: @Eamon
That happened to me a couple of times so I can't really dis...
@Noticeably_FAT
You forgot the "imo"
I say this, because it's not some game has come and blew it out of the water. (Sykrim is doing only just a little bit better critically).
And as far as Uncharted 2 goes, it kind of sounds like you're making excuses. Uncharted 2 won because it was that damn good. The same goes for any other GOTY winner.
lol, yeah a small part of me kinda misses the old days too. Anyone remember dark_sniper and his hilarious press-release like speeches? Or how about queefyB's reign of idiocy?
ahh, good times.
Edit: Open zone truly was hilarious. Regardless of which side was being trolled.
Very interesting article.
Specifically these parts: "It's easy to sneer and be cynical. Like it or not, star attachment has an important function in the grand strategy of game marketing. But the world's biggest game doesn't need to be surrounded by reality TV cretins in an attempt to fit some vague definition of 'cool'.
That people still feel it needs to stems from a deep insecurity that continues to run right through the games indust...
Lol!!!!!!!!
That's probably the best Call of Duty joke I've heard/read in a loooooooooong time.
Exactly. In fact, that section you quoted is exactly what's wrong with gamers these days.
They feel that they should be able to pay whatever THEY want for a game. Which just as selfish as all of the "greedy corporations" they go on about.
Actually, while what Bounkass said was definitely harsh, he's kind of right in a way. It's not your God-given right to play any specific game, so it's not the developer's fault if you CAN'T AFFORD said game.
Just because you don't want you to pay full price for a game doesn't give you the right to cheat the game developers out of profit. (which is essentially what you are doing when supporting the used game market.)
Well, to be fair, It's not like you see this kind of thing everyday. And if nothing else, it'll remind the fanboy's that they are the only ones participating in their little "war".
@kramun
lol. Don't give them ideas.
@Eldorado
I get what you're trying to say. But, no game is perfect and yet some still get perfect scores. So I think subtracting .1 is a little ridiculous. (still a great score though.)
@Aloren
I'm well aware that it (most likely) didn't cost that much. It was a hypothetical example. I actually meant to make that clear in the original post. (but I obviously forget).
The numbers don't really matter here, it's the idea that's important.
All I'm saying is that we shouldn't assume it was or wasn't a success based off the sales alone. There are more factors involved then just that.
That's something I think about a lot. Why can't people just listen to the guy?
Wait until SE actually say it's going multi before writing ten thousand articles on it.
@Aloren
Well actually it depends.
What if they made 60 million off the 360, but it cost them 120 million to produce said version? Then they would have actually lost money. So you can't just say it was worth it because they sold some extra copies.
The financial success of any given product is heavily dependent on what it cost to produce said product. (selling 5 million is good, unless you need 7 million to break even.)
Tha...
Exactly. I mean, I sorta like the idea of it being exclusive. But it definitely wouldn't phase me if it went multi.
I think the fear stems from people blaming the 360 for XIII's shortcomings. But in reality, XIII would have had the same story, gameplay, characters, etc. whether exclusive or not.
@White Lightning
What do you mean "hardly improved"?
You should probably watch this trailer : http://n4g.com/news/904099/...
We get it, you don't like the game. And you're not going to like the game no matter what.
But saying they "hardly improved" upon the original is just you lying to yours...
