"it's hard to imagine games actually looking better"
UHM WHAT?
It's easy: think about a movie, and imagine you are controlling that character.
Have we achieved photo realistic games? Not at all, we still have a lot of work to do!
Battlefield 3 will look crap compared to games arriving 5 to 10 years from now.
"Looking at this year's blockbuster releases which saw magnificent looking games like Uncharted 3 and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, it's hard to disagree with him. I mean, how much of an improvement can we really see in the future? According to the interview, Carmack did predict a performance increase by ten-fold, which in turn should allow developers to boost the frame-per-second count and increase the high definition to 1080p. Aside from that, things sound pretty bleak in the gra...
Why is it "poorly implemented" as you say?
What are the bugs you encounter?
I love Battlelog because you have a lot more connectivity with friends, the community, and with Dice.
By seeing 1 more or less negative review, you decide the console version is a fail?
Compared to PC, yes console version is a little worse.
Compared to other console titles, it fits perfectly between the other big budget titles like Uncharted 3.
US only sales.
Nuff said.
PS3 has always dominated in Europe and Asia.
@ those who disagree:
WHY?
He is correct if you didn't know. CoD games don't even run on 720p. It's a little lower.
@ floetry101
LOOL, you really think 60 frames per sec is the selling factor for CoD games?
I bet most gamers don't even know what frames per sec mean.
CoD sells a lot because of the perk system, killstreak system, and fast leveling system.
Unfortunately true.
But I still prefer the extra PC attention, over BF getting more popular than CoD.
"Call of Duty does take skill to be good at"
Having skill at fast paced shooters will give you MAYBE an advantage.
Fact is: since MW2, when you suck at CoD, you can still be on top in a match.
- Go sit in a corner
- Rank up some kills
- Get a killstreak
- Kill some guys with it
- *BAM* In top five.
The killstreak system has messed up the necessity of skill.
- Because everyone can sit, camp, get...
Agreed.
X ray, and that prediction movement system is plain stupid.
You will be able to disable it, but it sucks games get dumbed downed and developers don't dare to make a challenging game.
Indeed, but still, graphics do play a part.
Can you tell me 1 big budget title that has worse graphics than MW3? Please do tell me!!
It's a disgrace they keep the cost low by using an engine from the 80's. And that while it's the best sold game franchise in recent years.
RIP Steve.
This man changed our lives considerably.
A man with a true vision. A genius.
I love the Beta!
Perhaps OP Metro wasn't the best map to choose, to let the public get their hands on. Caspian Border would give more of a "WoW" effect.
Still, I'm glad I pre ordered. I haven't seen that much show stopping bugs, and love the handling of the weapons and prone.
Only played Assault/Medic till now.
Go Dice! Keep releasing patches and you have a killer game!
Dice stated there won't be a seperate 64 bits executable.
Nevertheless, they still recommend 64 bits OS since 4 GB of mem would be nice.
Yes, Battelog will get online during beta.
It's really a beta, not a glorified demo.
They will take feedback and release a Day 1 patch.

My last one was MW2. I won't make the mistake again.
Hell, I even bought BF2 again a few months ago, it still rocks.
But somehow I think the majority still have bought BO although they screamed after MW2's launch: no more CODs for me!!
Agree 100%.
People are disagreeing with you because they don't know how much technology has advanced over the years.
They just don't wanna think about it and stay put with their crappy consoles.
You are kidding me right?
Read my comment right above you.
We are still far away of photo realism.
E.g. bugs flying around in Uncharted. It are the little details that we haven't focused on yet. Because hardware from now is limited.
