The visual touch ups in the HD remaster go beyond a resolution/aspect ratio change so the result isn't quite the same.
Honestly, I'd wish this PS4 HD remaster was ported to the PC. Would love to DSR it down from 4K on my monitor.
So THAT'S why Keighley is in Japan...
edit: nvm. This pertains to the LA office.
I'm going to be open-minded and assume the backlash for their recent poor PC ports has made them realise they need to spend far more time working on them, hence the delay.
Or at least, that's what I want to be the case.
Love the work these guys are doing with these tasteful, faithful texture improvements.
There are sites, but they are still niche. Take Playism for instance. DRM-free but limited to Japanese indie stuff.
Watch the video. It becomes clear that it goes beyond being implied to being silently screamed within the first few seconds.
This isn't about controller prompts/controller use though.
It flat out flashes the Xbox One box on screen, essentially screaming out silently that it's the Xbox One version of the game. That goes one step too far from simply going over the heads of misinformed viewers to actual misdirection.
And it all seems pointless. They could have just not done that and there would have been no real issue as the game/experience shown would have still been real.
Things in development change. The devs aren't lying to you. The circumstances change, hence the product changes. You've been kept abreast of development with regular, representative snapshots of the game as of that point in development.
So let me ask you: why have you held the devs to their initial reveal and not the dozens of ongoing bits of information they've put out there?
Like the article says, you should be feeling lied to if the pre-launch ...
" You're right. There isn't. It's only logical though, that when you develop for consoles at the same time, the way they are with TW3, visuals [on the PC version] are going to take a hit."
That isn't logical in the slightest and I see absolutely no reason why the console involvement would affect the PC version the way it has (purportedly). Affect the console versions sure, but if you believe parity had a role in this then you are going to need someth...
The console angle makes no sense to me. There's no reason they couldn't have kept the original assets, even if they were only for use on the PC version. I'm not buying any tin-foil hat conspiracies that they did this so console owners would feel better about themselves or something - please, only realistic theories that are grounded in reality.
If they downgraded it, it was likely because their initial target was too ambitious for them from a sheer art asset creat...
Haha. Wow, I didn't know a lot of these.
This isn't a sports car. It's a high end van with a n overly expensive paint job. Also, car analogies need to just die.
Wow. It looks pretty nice even on low.
It's a good deal but with all the issues I've heard this game has I'd rather just wait a few more months for things to calm down. Maybe get a GOTY edition or something.
There's a tragic undertone in that whole trailer. Noctis is portrayed coldly, in an almost villain like way. And in stark contrast to FFXV he's a solitary character.
I wonder if, rather than being scrapped, that's indicative of Noctis's character development? And if so, I wonder what dramatic turn of events could have made him that way.
Hate to be a downer and all but this is a rumour. And not a particularly strongly substantiated one at that.
So (not read the article yet) is this something that works on a Windows level or does it require developers to specifically support it for proper results a la Crossfire/SLI?
Ah, it's a glitch run. I've got nothing against them, but they're a whole different beast from a regular run, and should be marked accordingly.
Not sure how Ys 3 was, but here you have three swords you can toggle between (red, blue and yellow) and level up. They all are largely the same in practice though with the red one sporting a charge up attack.
None. But with a PS4 version to side-port from it's possible it will happen. I still want a big-screen version of this game at some point and the PC version would make for the biggest screens of all (UHD).
