Yes, people are acting like the game is a dungheap or something. I remember the Witcher was worshipped like a god despite its problems. So much so, that the developers did not even expect it to be anywhere near as successful as it has been. Virtually no one pointed out any of the issues or buggy glitches the game had. Mass Effect though... BAM brick wall.
Well, its not like this was accidental bad writing on Biowares part. They said quite a few times that they want your character to rise to the status of hero. Alec Ryder, despite not being the main character, gave off that sense of experience and heroism that one would come to expect. We have to earn ours.
It honestly seems that many people just want this game to fail. Everyone is vehemently bashing one specific thing in the game, and its not all that bad across the board. I have seen some of the animations, and there are quite a few questionable ones, but these do not happen as constantly as people would make others think. Yes, the animations could be better, that is for sure. But to crucify a game so thoroughly over just a single aspect. The game is not going to be the 10 I wanted it to be, ...
Mass effect Andromeda is the only game I am actually excited for, but something tells me it is going to suck
A game can be perfect and still improve. People just have a lofty expectation for what perfect is, and imagine it to be something incapable of any "errors". But most of what gamers consider a mistake in a game is subjective.
Or you could do both....High perspective
I think the animations for the most part are not so bad. They are apart of what gave Mass Effect its signature vibe and atmosphere. These are video games, and they do not all have to portray hyper realistic animations. To a degree, it is a small piece of a greater whole that is the reason why a lot of games are losing their appeal and creative direction. So many games now, especially triple AAA titles vie for hyper realism. For the developers, trying to develop most of their games to mimic re...
Xenoverae 2 is definitely the best of them. Old Dragonball games were just unlock characters and look at ultimate moves. Xenoverse took the formulafar beyond that.
@Lawson72
Or just folk who would rather watch their games rather than play them.lol
@ xPhearR3dx
Exactly. But according to our friend here, feats like that are laziness. Going through your game and trying to find some purpose and use for all of the junk items littered throughout your games giant map is laziness, and trying to work with that many variables is talentless. Its not enough cutscenes, setpieces and photorealistic graphics and dialogue for our friend here, that much is for sure. Too much gameplay, and not enough talking for him.lol
@kurdishcurse
Lazy? That is probably the funniest thing I have heard in a while. I smell bias here.
I have been playing Bethesda developed games since the Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, and have never experienced any game breaking bugs. Like you said, only minor oddities. People expect Uncharted levels of polish with a game that has a hundred times more variables working in tandem.
Their games are massive, much larger than many others. With so many variables, do you really expect a bug free experience? I never here anyone complaining about the Witcher 3's bugs though, and that game has plenty of them.
If you are having fun in the open world you are in, it is going to be more immersive to you. If not, it is going to seem lifeless. Skyrim was more fun for me. Witcher 3, I just found myself chasing breadcrumb trails to the next main quest. Did not care for anything else in the game unfortunately.
@ Myst-Vearn- How dare you blasphem the Witcher 3. Dislikes for you sir.lol
Thats quest wise. Skyrim, all of the interesting stuff revolves around character progression and discovery, something the Witcher is lacking in.
But, Bethesda's creativity and sheer weight in rpg gameplay mechanics is still high.
Everything in the Witcher 3 is better than Skyrim: Except the gameplay. If the gameplay was better, Witcher 3 would be an insurmountable RPG titan. But, it is lacking severely in the gameplya department sadly.
Oh, and Dragon Age says hi in reference to game worlds for medieval RPG's.
I have played it. Some of those things you mention stem to other games that get a whole lot of praise though. I would not say its boring, at least not for me. Combat is an improvement over the older ones, so thats a plus. Some of the dialogue is definitely very questionable, but it does not seem to extend far out enough to blacken the entire game in the darkspawn taint. In terms of voice acting, that is where the nitpicking shows. The voice acting I have heard is Bioware standard. Animations ...
