Yet no pne bats an eye when Geralt is riding Roach upside down. Interesting.

Your likely one of the few that doesnt need the game to have a high profile presentation to play it. Kudos

H game does not deserve the beating people are giving it.

Suprprised to see anyone say anything against Horizon. Most people will count that as blasphemy.lol

Its just taste, no need to be cruel about it.

I learned alot more about the hidden mysteries of Thedas doing those fetch quests. Thats what many of them are there for, Bioware hiding secretes like they normally do. Some pf the Witchers quests arent so mich better, they just look better.

My taste must be horrid because I thought the character was cute. Strange how that is.

The way I to look at it is as an insight into the game. Most critics now and days tend to favor games with high presentation valies, regardless of other factors. Some examples are the Last Guardian, Withcer 3, uncharted, and Horizon. If the game is getting dumpstered on by most reviews, then that isually points to a low presentation, regardless to if the gameplay is even good or engaging.

Mass Effect has been a major divide in gamers. Those who play their games more to watch it think its crap, while those who care more about gameplay over presentation are enjoying it. Like Bethesda vs Naughty Dog.

I didnt think the default female ryder looked bad. I can see people not finding her attractive, but comparing her to Shrek is a bit overboard.

Boring to those who prefer for the side quests to be more appealing on the eyes. Inquisiton is all about.....welll, finding the truth. Check out the lore lovers on houtube who discuss theories and such on youtube. Yes, there are run of the mill fetch quests in this gamee, but that goes for virtually wvery open world rpg, even the Witcher 3.

Calling me a fool? Interesting how easy it is to hit a nerve. Regardless, I am not saying anything against criticism towards an art form. But what critic is just going to constantly bring the "negatives" under scrutiny without also pointing out what went right with the game?

It depends what the developers focus on. They may have placed too much focus in the mainstream aspects (encouraged by EA I am sure) of the game. I went to Horizon zero dawn, which is a stellar game, and I was able to point out some graphical problems as well. Not as blatant as some of the stuff in Mass Effect sure, but they are still there. The problem is..... no one points them out for that game. With Mass Effect on the other hand, each one is being picked out with surgical precision, even o...

Its not low standard to hand wave a handful of understandable errors. If anything, I would say that the uproar are the results of being first world and over privileged . People are not thankful for anything anymore.

The game is indeed receiving a great deal of backlash. I can understand criticism, but the massive uproar is a bit unnecessary.

If I were to point out a new, notable issue, it would be the lack of atmospheric soundtrack while doing just about anything that is not a cut scene or combat. It often sounds so quite, and dead at times.

The teammates seemed a little less.... involved when on missions on the previous Mass Effect. I thought that them adding a bit of a dragon age touch to that through banter was a good addition. The teammates are actually interacting to some extent, yet that has somehow turned into a con for the game. Reminds me of how people complained about Fallouts dialogue not showing exactly what the character would say, when just about every dialogue wheel in modern RPG's do the same thing.

I have played it. Some of those things you mention stem to other games that get a whole lot of praise though. I would not say its boring, at least not for me. Combat is an improvement over the older ones, so thats a plus. Some of the dialogue is definitely very questionable, but it does not seem to extend far out enough to blacken the entire game in the darkspawn taint. In terms of voice acting, that is where the nitpicking shows. The voice acting I have heard is Bioware standard. Animations ...

Yes, people are acting like the game is a dungheap or something. I remember the Witcher was worshipped like a god despite its problems. So much so, that the developers did not even expect it to be anywhere near as successful as it has been. Virtually no one pointed out any of the issues or buggy glitches the game had. Mass Effect though... BAM brick wall.

Well, its not like this was accidental bad writing on Biowares part. They said quite a few times that they want your character to rise to the status of hero. Alec Ryder, despite not being the main character, gave off that sense of experience and heroism that one would come to expect. We have to earn ours.
