Is it really foundational? Or is it just incomplete?
What is reality?
No they dont deserve all the crap the are getting. Some of it, but not all of it.
Its also possible that quite a few critics were scared to oppose the massive hate wave going on. Not all, but there are some.
Perhaps the score is a bit too high, but it's just one score out of about a hundred "accurate" scores. Since the game is broken, it should not be more than an 8 I would say, but then again, not everyone experience s the breakage.
Bethesda did some messed up stuff in regards to this game, including lying to customers and deceiving them. However, I cant say that warrants the game consistently scoring 2/10 and even 1/10. 5/10, sure, but not 2/10. I have seen some bugs, and have fortunate enough to only crash once, but other than that I find it fun. The truth of the matter is that the performance alone is definitely not why people are scoring it so poorly, its because of the gameplay.
True. Take care of your people, and they will take care of you.
Think about it my friend, the tactics they pull. Hey, I like the game and I'm playing it so if anyone could be labled a " defender" of the game, its me;However, Todd did lie his rear off at the Bethesda press conference. Also, this whole situation with the canvas bags, a bait and switch tactic if I ever did see one. Something is going on,and alot of people should be able to see it.
I dont know. I love Bethesda, but the crap they just tried to pull was basically theivery. Are they as financially stable as we are led to believe? Remember, they have God Howard:Lord of Ambition, and ambition costs alot of money. Kojima will tell you.
You make a good point. Well put.
Because it takes two to tango. Bethesda has messed up but that doesnt change the fact that alot of people were inducing unnecessary hatred on the game. This backlash this game got made Mass Effect Andromeda look like a masterpiece by comparison, despite the fact that ME:Andromeda was a broken game at launch as well. Heck Ark charged $60 as well and was super buggy, but did much better than 76 critically.
The game is full of content, just not the kind of content that people seem to care about. I could say the same for Breath of the Wild, no content.
Hey, I didn't say it was okay to release the game in an incomplete state for $60 dollars. However, the gameplay is literally Fallout 4 without npcs. If one plays Bethesda games to explore and just have fun with that, like I do, then one will enjoy the game.
But people still find it fun. Want to truly truly test a game? Play it, and if you dont like it, then play something you do like. Not every game is made for everyone.
I always thought people liked Bethesdas games to explore and build their character, not to do quests. It seems I was wrong. Either way it goes, this "lack of purpose" is the same thing I felt in Breath of the wild, so I know what you mean. But in truth, when it comes to open world games at least, we make our own purpose, regardless of what the developers put in. This is why it is sometimes wise to pick games we like and just play those.
I dont think he is following trends, it is just people get bored easily. People should have been aware of this though, as it is a Bethesda game. Exploring and finding stuff has always been a large part of their games, I guess people were drawn to the other parts in Bethesdas past titles.
Its not an accurate answer. 1/10 and 0/10 is not properly reflective of auch a scenario.
It is not objectively bad. Other broken games being released for $60 have gotten scores that accurately reflect it. The hate tsunami grew so powerful, that some people just go with flow, rather than state how they really feel. Why should some critics be honest about their thoughts on the game when their is the risk of overwhelming rebuttal from such a large group of people? Its like saying your atheist during the dark ages.
Its not the proper criticism against rhe game that is the issue, because Bethesda are screwing up hard right now, and are trying to make out like bandits. However, their were alot of people crucifying the game before the lawsuits. It takes two to tango.
Maybe it's more like an investment. Perhaps those people are aware of and understanding of certain variables that others are not. It is very easy for consumers to sit back in our chairs sipping drinks and complaining about everything because we arent the ones trying to struggle to come up with a way to make this strange blend of a game work. Bethesda did utilize questionable tactics with this game, but many people are just as out of line in this scenario.
