My name is Arkham, and I approve of this week's PSN update.
I believe it *was* a false positive. The particular virtumonde.sdn warning is one that has in the past been a false-positive for SpyBot S&D's resident protection. I scanned with several tools and was fine, but at the time time I was able to prevent the item from initially being installed.
The other link to the EU Playstation site showed that the site in question has had similar problems in the past. I suspect it's just their ads or some odd javascript on their site. Eith...

I didn't click anything other than the story link on N4G, and no other tabs/sites were open. When the article's site loaded up, it triggered my resident protection.
It's either a false positive (hopefully) or one of the random ads in rotation on that site. Luckily I blocked it before "~.exe" could be installed and run.
EDIT: I think it's a false positive, for now, but I'm running a couple of extra scans.

I just got a virus/trojan warning when PS3center.net loaded up (virtumonde.sdn). Maybe it's one of their advertisers, but I suggest that EVERYONE who clicked the link scan their systems asap.

There wasn't any mention of 'bundling' the game with the PS3, that was a misinterpretation of someone saying that the Madden release was tied to the Slim release, meaning Sony/EA were reportedly committed to releasing both around the same time.
Someone needs to work on their reading/listening comprehension.
"Tied with..." doesn't mean Madden is going to be bundled with anything. The original context is along the lines of "coincides with", not "bundled with".
Sony suggested that they will be offering a pack-in with the Eye, so my wife and I are going to pick Pet up that way. Should be fun. Too cute.
