I agree with Jaffe on this one. There's been too much of an emphasis shoe-horning MP into too many games, moving the focus onto grinding & leveling up your character.
While MS is referring to games like Halo, Gears, etc as their core "controller games", it would be interesting if they could use Kinect to supplement controller gameplay with voice recognition.
For example, yelling "Nade!" to blind-throw a grenade in a panic situation, or even use Kinect for menus or other in-game gestures that don't require pin-point accuracy and reflex timing. (I'm not bashing Kinect on the lag issue here, I just think that rega...
I think the deal breaker is the space required in order to play the deeper Kinect games. The optimum distance from the tv/Kinect is a bit further than most people sit from their display. Great for parties, though.
It's still to early to tell, but these issues certainly are powering the Internet with steam from all sides. :)
And that's terrific for the 3DS, but I think a PSP2D (ha) would be better with a higher res LCD, SAMOLED, etc.. A native 2D screen would offer greater visual fidelity and brightness over a combo-screen.
For hell's sake, I know I keep harping about the need to license keyboards, but now more than ever we need to throw webcam licensing in there too.
"Network connection" <> journalism
NO. Not for me, anyway. I prefer a high-quality display on my portable. I like the technology Nintendo's using, but for long sessions I prefer 2D with better viewing angles.
I was expecting that one of the initial (read: "Holiday") bundles would be Eye+EyePet+Move, and I'm still hoping one of those shows up in time for Christmas.
I'm sure that it'll be an option at some point, though.
One good thing about EyePet, though, is that we don't have to stand 10 feet away from the display in order to play it. That goes a long way towards acceptance and immersion. EyePet Move looks to be a drastic improvement over the card-based version, though. I really like what we've seen of Kinectimals so far--that tiger is so damned cute--and it's the perfect counter-Move (ahem) game for Kinect. Thankfully Nintendogs set a terrific bar for these games and we all benefit exponen...
It's all speculation (read: that *was* the price) until the new post-Sony conf. pricing trickles down through the channels to retailers. Dissemination takes some time, y'know?
Gamescom announcement? That, or MS's now-prepared price announcement will be either leaked or blasted out at the first opportune time.
MS has to somehow justify the "Multi-player Move" versus "Multi-player Kinect" price difference somehow. The grey ar...
"Gabe seems to be a very lazy man"
I see what you did there. ;)
Or "O4CS!". ;)
(OFCS.)
Arkham approves. ;)
I'd be happier to see an Android version as well, though.
Too bad there aren't any bonuses available to those of us who have hundreds of the Mythos CCG cards. ;)
Sorry, MCV, but you got it wrong right out of the gate: Sony did not refer to Killzone as a "Halo-killer" -- that was the way it was hyped by the media and fans. This myth crops up at least once a year.
To my knowledge, EA is the first to (stupidly) refer to their own product as a Halo-Killer. To date I think that companies have wisely gone out of their way to avoid the tag. Regardless of how good a game is, calling it a Halo-Killer is just asking for beating by...
Finally! Looking forward to this. The original was one of the 360's games I've always wanted to play on the PS3.
I will buy any version of any game with the Timesplitters name. Bring 'em! ;)
I agree for the most part. I had a blast in the beta, but as with the best of this breed of this game, most of the time I spent was on customizations. The depth was fantastic.
Good to see this game being so well received.
Well at least this wasn't another "5 Reasons Why..." blogitorial.
Though it's not much better than one.
This is definitely one game I've been wishing would come to the PSN.
What a little whinger. I have three times his debt and I'm not crying about it. That whole auction (and the source's stories) just reeks of a hoax.
That being said, I do have a Sega Master System w/lightgun and 10 games, a Sega Genesis with the Sega Cd attachment with games, and a Dreamcast with 1 controller. Found 'em second hand. First person who wants them all can send me 5K and I'll even throw in free shipping. Hell, ACT NOW and you can have everythin...
