Oh yeah, just like how Music/Movie/Television are dieing... PC Gaming isn't going anywhere, it is still thriving.
on consoles...
@Knight_cid
Gotta love console gamers. At first it's PC has no exclusives, then when they are proven wrong they compare every single console+handheld to make up for it (and IOS? lets compare every flash/html game then....).
You know you're a console gamer when you think PC has no online community. WoW still has over 10million active subscribers, that's not just people who bought the game, they are still paying the ~$12 a month to play it. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe any console has even close to that many people still playing any game, infact I doubt there is any game that still even has 2 million active players. PC community obviously is non existent.
PCs use to have unlockables.... Games like Tony Hawks and a lot of the older games that were notorious for unlockables were on the PC as well. DLC really picked up once PS3/360 came along with their brand new online stores that enabled people to download extra content after the game had been released. Of course the game developers exploited it and decided to start adding stuff at release, it had nothing to do with PC at all.
I love the hackers argument. I've seen about a total of 5 hackers on BF3 on PC, all of which get banned after the round ends. MW2 on 360 on the other hand...that was just a mess. Hackers on PC get banned near instantly, on consoles it takes until a patch comes out (which for CoD usually meant they opened up even more room for hacked lobbies).
It's ND, they don't release bad gameplay.
The original Far Cry is far from underated... at least to the PC crowd and anybody that knew a decent amount before consoles were main stream.
@GamingTruth
What are you smoking? Clothes picking up stuff from the environment (sand, water, whatever) has NOTHING to do with how powerful a machine is, that is a gameplay/graphics DECISION by the game developer. That plays no role in this topic at all. And I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure one of the old Tomb Raider games actually did do the wet clothing.
As far as the 'is that ingame' is concerned, are you trying to say that the PC is worse...
How AREN'T they comparable? The jump from consoles to PC is larger than the jump from 360 to PS3, but I bet many wouldn't believe that.
Need to change discs? Must need a new console then... /s
What PC games lack compared to the 360 version of it? EVERY PC game that is on 360 looks AT LEAST as good (assuming it is a disgusting port), and good ports look much, much better than the 360 version.
It will be quite a while until the 'x3' will come into play. Regardless of hardware, cost is a major factor, as is time. You know those CGI movies you see? They take years to create, and a good year to render with hundreds of computers rendering them, as well as a fairly high budget to produce it. And that is for a non interactive, 1-2 hour story. Imagine a 30 hour game + multiplayer like this, mankind simply doesn't have an efficient way of producing this at a normal cost of mone...
Have you seen Metro: 2033 on PC max? And I mean in person, not some youtube compressed video. As awesome as The Last of Us will be, it won't be anything compared to the new Metro when it comes out. 2033 looked amazing and I'm sure the new one will top 2033 by a fair margin.
Yes, what a terrible business strategy it is to make it so people can't buy pre owned games and play online which the developers get no money from. Oh wait...
Glad to see people putting their money where their mouth is. CoD sales have dropped a shitload compared to the other CoD games.
This feels like an article that should be on a 'funny' site. The Daily Blink is a joke comic, and this article doesn't really have much to do with gaming (ie previes, reviews, pictures, videos etc). Maybe people should start submitting Dolly articles if they ever mention a game...
You have already payed for the game, selling it won't do anything apart from affecting you. If you enjoy the game you may as well just play it, and not purchase DLC.
Haha, the other CoD games would like a word with you. It won't be long till this gets hackers on consoles.
Just because it got 3mil views doesn't mean people believed it. People probably heard that GTAV was getting announced and searched youtube for videos, and this came up so they clicked it... I don't think it has anything to do with being cool, nor could I see how someone would be cool for watching it.
It seems like they are bluffing. What if Microsoft say "OK, don't sell it then", then what? Plenty of other places will sell it, so everyone can still obtain the Xbox, it will only be Gamestop losing money, and you can guarantee as soon as MS say they will continue doing what they do, that Gamestop will give in and sell it.
