ps3 singstar is merely reading the song data files on the ps2 singstar disc ... it isn't playing ps2 singstar discs in emulation mode..

i have no doubt some of the things you are saying (i.e. people you know don't own ps3) are true - because it is your own personal experiences - but i do not like journalists writing stupid articles based on the wrong interpretation of the available statistics in order to create traffic and fanboy arguments
however, you do understand that the article has misintepreted it own statistics don't you? in fact, if anything, the results suggest that multiplayers prefer the ps3 version....
actually out of the eleven games mentioned only battlefield and vegas has a higher attached rate on the xbox than the ps3.. in other words SEVEN out of eleven titles had a higher atttach rate on the ps3.
hence the data does not suggest that owners prefer the xbox platform.. multiplayers do not prefer the xbox 360 since for the same number of consoles more ps3 versions are sold than xbox versions

i think sony made a mistake in caning both these titles.. brutal economics but give me a hardcore game such as the getaway then casual games any day
4-5 is not high because EVEN gta on THE PS3 has an attached rate of 32%. So if gta had a global release then 13mio * 0.32 = 4 mio copies of gta sold. you would expect mgs to better this.
bear in mind that mgs is only a 15 year old rated game (as opposed to gta 4 which is rated 18 - narrower audience), it's an exclusive (which means it will have a higher attached rate than 0.32%) and also it will be bundled with a hugely in demand 80gb ps3 version.

according to sony the attachment rate for gta was 32%. So if you assume mgs to be at least as succesful then 4/5 mio copies of mgs will be sold in the next 2 months. a year end sales total should be around 6/7mio.
yeah agreed this game is the most amazing game i played in the last decade.. if you own a ps3 then you owe it yourself to at least try this game.. it is absolutely gobsmackingly gorgeous.. all other ps3 games just do not compare to this work of art.
sounds like a good idea but for an M&A annoucement it seems strange for it to be delayed until E3. I think you should check sega share price in the last few days before for an insider trading. an annoucement like this should be partially leaked.
edit: sega share price down 25% in last few weeks whilst the sector has risen makes it seem like this theory is interesting but so far highly speculative
