The end of this generation cycle? Maybe I've been living under a rock but I don't recall hearing the release date of the PS4 and the Xbox 720.

Haven't played Uncharted 3, but I'm willing to bet it deserves GOTY consideration, and I KNOW that Gears of Mother F'N' War 3 deserves it. But my game of the year, despite a few bugs, is of coure, Skyrim.
When an Elder Scrolls game comes out, everything else is second. I can't wait to see what a next gen Elder Scrolls game will be like!
Who says 3 is the magic number? In the video games world, 199 is the magic number (dollars, that is).
Yeah it would be best to have 1 console, but the problem is that more than one company wants to be the one to make the profit off of selling the console.
Gears going multiplatform could happen but MS will most likely make it very worth their while for Epic to keep it exclusive.

My Friday night was awesome, I played Skyrim for hours AND had great sex! Not at the same time.
Working fine for me so far on PS3, but my save files haven't reached 6MB yet.
Bethesda's Pete Hines confirmed on his Twitter... "On the list for this update is improved performance for long-term play on PS3."

Bethesda's Pete Hines said on his Twitter that this upcoming patch will specifically address the long-term play/lag issues on the PS3. I just glanced over his Twitter page and didn't notice anything about the 360 version, but I'm guessing that the upcoming patch will fix the texture loading issue.

Apparently Bethesda is investigating this problem, and hopefully there will be a patch. They say it's only a portion of PS3 units experiencing to problems. Hopefully I'll be one of the lucky ones. I might start waiting a month or two after Bethesda releases a game so they'll have time for the inevitable patch.

NO FRANCHISE should come out annually. Every 2 to 3 years is perfect for a videogame IP, otherwise it will just get tired. Sports games are an exception, because at the very least rosters need to be updated.
It's really hard to spot the differences in this one. I'd say get it for whichever one you prefer to play it on.
It can stand alone, but it won't hurt to Google or Wiki The Elder Scrolls to get a brief synopsis so you can at least have a little back story going into it.
MAJ0R, if they purposely left bugs in to combat piracy, then they could potentially have a class action lawsuit on their hands, unless the package says that an Internet connection is required to play the game.
Believe it or not, there are poor saps who don't have their consoles connected still, in the year 2011, so any game sold in a store unless specifically stated should be ready to be played whether a patch is available or not.
Does LensOfTruth.com normally have the 360 vs. PS3 comparisons up before the games launch? I want to get Skyrim on Friday but I want to know which version is better first.
I have been waiting for Skyrim with the anticipation of a little kid on Christmas Eve. I would've bought Uncharted 3 before MW3, but held off because I know that once Skyrim comes out, all other gaming for me stops for a while.

If Skyrim weren't coming out only 10 days later, I would've bought this one day one. It looks like waiting a little bit for a possible patch may be the way to go though. Either way, UC3 will be another masterpiece like its predecessors.
@Rifkens - When you have little kids that could possibly trip over a cord...wireless technology is great! Then again, I'd take wireless over wired any day, with or without kids.
