CanadianGuy - in MS's defense, they almost have to throw their money around to secure 3rd party exclusives, at least in the present. Sony has many more in-house studios so that they can pump their own games out faster. MS will get there, but it will take a few years, so in the mean time they buy more 3rd party exclusives to make up for it.
If they didn't do that then the number of exclusives would be lopsided in Sony's favor. It's simply smart business on MS's part.
Why not? It would be another great game to add to the already amazing library, and one more IP no longer associated with just one brand.
What's better?
My opinion: controller (I like how it feels better and just the way games play in general on 360 over PS3), exclusives (I love Gears of War and Halo), Live service (way more features), better library of games to choose from.
Fact: multiplatforms perform better (most of the time) - better framerate, less jaggies, sometimes better graphics (notice I said MOST of the time, not ALL of the time). The 360's controller is more ergonomically correct

If you were the owner of a videogame store, and 300 people laid down $5 to reserve a popular upcoming game, then 90 people never came in to claim their game, should you have to track down 90 people? No, because it's the consumer's responsibility to remember where they reserved the game (how hard is that)?
However if the release date changes, then the consumers should be notified, however the responsibility of claiming your game should lie on the customer.
What GS is...
Even Wii and PS3 owners acknowledge that Live is superior...except on this website, where people are too brainwashed and in love with Sony [to a creepy level, I might add] to admit that anything about the 360 is better, when in fact, MANY things about the 360 are better.
I'm tired of this rumor too. I would love to see it come to the 360, but if not, oh well. There's plenty of other great games to play.
Let's just assume for a second that MGS4 is secretly a timed exclusive. Even if that's so, not enough time has passed since its release for there to be an announcement anytime soon. Look at Bioshock. It was about 3/4 of a year before an official PS3 announcement.
I doubt the 360 will ever see it (I hope I'm wrong), but if there ...
Sony will make a profit on the PS3 eventually (probably). They have to concentrate on making the PS3 cheaper to make. Sony have no choice but to have a long term strategy. That being said, MS and Sony aren't exactly in danger of going out of business because the Wii is dominating. MS and Sony are competing for the hardcore crowd (mostly), and the Wii is entirely different.
If MS and Sony were to merge, another console maker would come along anyway, whether it's Apple, Sega, S...
Sony and Nintendo have been around a lot longer. MS will acquire more in house studios, but it will take time. They've said as much. It's not like money is an issue.
Skerj, I have to admit, I never even knew that other picture existed. You're right, that is the only pic anyone ever saw, because of the media. That just goes to show how the media is eager to stir the pot and keep a story going. It disgusts me.
If the media told us the whole story each time instead of cherrypicking facts, half of these news stories would be one and done. That's why they don't do it.
Yeah Terminator, you show 'em. Remember just about every other multiplatform game? Remember those times going into GameSpot and you'd see a game on the PS3 display and can't help but think "wow, I didn't think there'd be that many jaggies" or "the 360 version looks just a little bit better"? I know I do.
And it'll still probably turn out better on Xbox.
Waseem, Sony is the racist company, in case you didn't know. Drop it.
Don't give too much credit to people. Most are cool and will stop the childish fanboy acts when something like this happens, but we both know that there are scum on both sides.
It's hard to see why MS would be afraid of Sony. After all, we all know that the 360 is the one that actually making a profit. :-D
Sony has more internal development, but MS still delivers a comparable number of exclusives. And depending on your tastes, MS has better exclusives. As I noted above, in the long term, MS will acquire more and more in-house development.
Look at it this way, Microsoft is in for the long haul. MS will invest in more development studios in order to pump out more exclusives at a faster rate. They will still invest in third party exclusives, some timed and some not.
Sony is the established video game company. They have worked hard to build a tremendous name for themselves in the industry, with a great long term strategy. MS will work hard to acquire more in-house development to rival what Sony has. MS has the ...
Some say the 360 is a last gen system because it's discs don't have the storage capacity of BluRay. Yeah it doesn't have as much storage capacity on DVD9 discs, but they are enough for 99% of the games out there.
If the 360 is so last gen, then why does it handle most games better than the PS3?! Look at the new S.C. IV. Anyone notice the lack of anti-aliasing on the PS3 version?
Juuken, why does the 360 have better frame rates and graphics on most games. Keep s...
Giant Enemy Crab is a great N4G poster, but I didn't realize he was a legend.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Racerrrrrrrrrr, woohoo!
Just because it's on top doesn't mean it's the only game we're playing. It's just a helluva lot of fun, and it has a following unlike any other exclusive out there. Not to mention, look at how many copies of the game were bought.
I don't get how this situation makes Madden '09 "screwed", like it won't sell or something. They can change the cover for later printings, and the original box might be worth a little more somewhere down the road.
On a side note, of course I want my Eagles to overcome the "Philly Curse" and win a Super Bowl, but if they can't, I would love to see Favre win one more before he retires. He came close last year, and I hope he has another great season this year. ...
