The only difference is, when the "too many great games at one time" excuse is used for the 360...it's actually true.
I think both line-ups will be just fine. Hell, except for a few exclusives per year, they're pretty much one and the same.
Two games in '09 that I'm looking forward to are the Halo and GTA expansions/DLC. I know that you Sony fanboys like to play down DLC, but in the cases of these two games, they are new campaigns with new stories and new characters. It's like getting a mini-sequel for a cheaper price. Aside from that, I can't wait for RE5, and I have high hopes for Ghostbus...
Sony definitely isn't used to having this tough of a time with its consoles, that's for sure. But then again, when the PS3 came out at the price it did, everyone knew that the PS3 would be forced to be the long distance runner in this race. The Wii would be the sprinter, while the 360 is somewhere in between.
Even with the RROD fiasco, beating the PS3 to market has been successful for the 360. A look at the sales and that so many games that were once only available on Sony con...
Persona 4 for PS2 was actually a tie for Game of the Month in the new EGM. The other Game of the Month was 360 exclusive Left 4 Dead.
In an interesting note, Resistance 2 only received the Silver Award, along with the 360's Command and Conquer, meaning they had a B average. Not quite the Gears killer some fanboys had hoped for.
The Wii just can't catch a break. It is the official home of crappy software. Holy crap. If a Wii game earns a C, it can consider itself...
While BluRay is the winning HD DVD format, I don't think that it will ever be as prominent in the home as DVD is, simply because I think things will go more toward digital download quicker than people think. Both the PS3 and especially the 360 with Netflix offer a huge selection. Not to mention PPV, etc.
Just a prediction, I could be wrong. I guess it depends on how quickly BluRay comes down in price, but regardless, I think digital download will be the dominant form of digita...
Wouldn't it be smarter of Sony to have a well-advertised PS3 price cut in time for the holiday season? I think they'd make more money that way rather than waiting until 09.
As far as "troubled times" for the 360, it will have its ups and downs in the coming year, just like the other companies do.
Let's wait until both Alan Wake and KZ2 to come out before deciding which looks more amazing, as both games will, no doubt. However, sometimes screenshots and even video that you see on the web before release can be deceiving. Until you're actually playing it on your TV, know never know how it'll look before hand.
Everyone is so excited over these two games because of graphics, but there's always the possibility that game play-wise, they'll be duds. Let's hope not.
The Gears 2 gunplay and cover system is exactly the same as Gears 1. I don't see how it would be inspired by Uncharted, since that came out well after the first Gears.
LOL. I'll be patient too. I'm paranoid that MS will figure out what I'm doing and ban my gamertag. I love my 360, but MS can be cheapskates sometimes.
It's all opinion. If you have a blast playing a game, then to you it's great. When playing Gears 2, I struggled to put the controller down. To me it's a great game. I'd argue that it's one of the greats overall to. I play enough games to know a great one when I see it.
Fluid controls, addictive gameplay, great acting, great story, great graphics, awesome co-op. The only thing it doesn't have that I wish it did is the ability to do 4 player co-op in the campaign, rather tha...
Morganfell, Gears 1 and 2 are both published by MS. The only way you'll see those two games on PS3 is if Sony pays a crapload of money. There's always a possibility of future Gears games on the PS brand, which wouldn't surprise me at some point, but you'd have to think that MS would be willing to pay a lot, and fight very hard to keep it exclusive.
On to the topic at hand. It's fair to say that at this point, since GTA and Resident Evil have seen the light and gone to the 360 ...
How the hell does anyone know if a website's numbers are low? Are there other websites out there besides VG charts where you're getting this info? There must be, because you can't just make statements like that without something to back it up.
A 400GB disc? Don't tell that to Hideo Kojima, his head will explode.
Did they compare the heavily hyped Haze to Zoids Assault? LOL, I've never even heard of Zoids Assault. I'm pretty sure no one was expecting Zoids Assault to be an AAA GOTY candidate.
Sony does take it...right up the @$$.
The FF comment doesn't fail - it was a huge Sony exclusive, whether it started on Sony or not. It has been a Sony staple for a while. And it doesn't matter if it's not out yet, it's already been announced and is a done deal.
It wouldn't be very smart of Epic to release Gears of War on PlayStation, because according to every PS3 fanboy on this website, Gears of War is an overrated piece of crap. Oh that's right, until it comes to the PS3, then it'll be the best thing since sliced bread.
Anyway if it ever did happen, you'd have to wait until Gears 3, since Gears 1 and 2 are published by you-know-who.
When you look at the comments that people leave on this page, you realize that there are so many categories in which to judge a winner. Who had the most sales, who had the highest rated exclusives, who had the highest selling exclusives, who sold the most consoles, who has the most marketshare, who gained the most marketshare. No single company wins every category.
On top of that, there are so many things up for debate when it comes to exclusives, like should a game that's also...
Uh oh, looks like someone is dyslexic.
Wow, lower ratings by virtually every publication AND lower sales. Yeah, a real Gears 2 killer, LOL. Gears 2 friggin' RULES!
brycespitler - Xfags? Xbox fans aren't the ones obsessing over a character named Sackboy, now are they? Now go back to playing your Japanese game where the character has long flowing locks, looks like he's wearing makeup, and looks like he's constantly posing for the cover of GQ.
Now, as for the two people having a Halo wedding, I like Halo as much as the next guy but...holy sh!t. Their parents must be proud.
