Chubear, you're dead wrong. MS did cut the lifespan of the Xbox 1 short because they wanted to encourage people to buy the 360 and because they said the hard drive costs were too much, but the Xbox accomplished its mission. It made MS a big player in the console market and paved the way for the 360, the most successful HD console.
Agreed, to each his own. I think using the R1 button to shoot feels unnatural. It's because I'm used to the 360 controller though. When you hold the 360 controller, your hand naturally rests on the triggers, at least mine do.
The PlayStation controller sucks. The 360 controller is ergonomically correct, and has triggers that actually feel like triggers. They've had the same controller design for 3 gens now - it's outdated.
Absolutely right. They currently cannot go toe-to-toe with first party development. They have to use their strengths - money. There's nothing wrong with buying exclusives, although I do hope they build up their first party studios eventually.
I love Capcom, I think they make some of the best games around. Capcom games always seem to have some of the best boss fights. But one thing that did piss me off is they had the audacity to expect people to pay extra for versus mode (sorry if this is mentioned in the article, I didn't bother to read it). I'm not going to pay for something that should've been included with the original version of the game in the first place.
I totally agree. I think gamers like to throw around the word "fail" WAY too much. The last mainstream video games system that truly failed was the Dreamcast, despite it being a good system, and nothing since.
Gears is certainly my favorite new IP this generation. I'll take Gears over Halo any day.
Metal Queer Solid 4

Queerzone 2

In continuing the fine tradition of N4G users in associating exclusives of the opposing console with homosexuality, allow me to introduce

Fart, wait until the next Xbox is released before you pass judgment. MS knows that the next Xbox will make or break them as far as reliability goes in the eyes of the public. I really don't think that they'll release the next one until they know that it will be reliable. If I'm wrong, then Sony will reap the benefits.
Glitches and freezing will happen occasionally no matter what console you're playing. I've had the 360 almost since launch, and glitches and freezing have been minimal.
I will tip my hat to Sony and say that Sony has made a very well built machine in the PS3. I'm guessing they put it through the ringer to make sure it was reliable before they released it. Let's hope that MS learns from them and their own billion-dollar mistake of releasing a console before it's ready.
"if you do the math, a more expensive console + a year late to the market, going on to sell over 21 million units is remarkable, and in comparison, the 8 million or so lead by the Xbox 360 seems pretty small."
-- Many times when someone chooses a console, they tend to stick with that brand for the next gen...and there are an awful lot of PS2 owners. Hell there STILL ARE an awful lot of PS2 owners who haven't picked up a next gen console, and most will go to the PS3. Ho...
Was Assassin's Creed shortened to fit on a regular DVD? I'm am guess like 99% of other games this gen, no. Most reports said that A.C. was slightly better on the 360, just like most multiplatform games are.
Sony has challenges for sales, but Nintendo has challenges for quality. Big difference. Nintendo should start giving a crap about gamers and not casual customers who play games that they buy without any research and only play once in a blue moon.
Unless the cellophane is still on it, it shouldn't be considered new.
If GT5 did go to PC, I would still consider it a PS3 exclusive. Most people are console gamers and if you want to play it on a console, you'll have to own a PS3.
I can't for the life of me figure out what makes people think that the console with the higher install base, that more profitable to sell is going anywhere, especially by the end of the year.
Even when Sony lowers the PS3 price, the 360 will be ok. As we've seen in the past, what will happen is the PS3 sales will heavily spike (and during this time period fanboys will cry doom for the 360) and then they'll level out. Then eventually MS will respond by lowering the 360 price. T...
The difference is, this wasn't touted as being a big AAA title like Lair was. I played the demo for this months ago, and while I didn't think it was terrible, I knew it was mediocre at best. That said, this game has no business being compared to God of War. I don't even know why anyone did in the first place. I guess because it's a 360 exclusive. If it was a multiplatform game, it would never have been compared to GOW 3 and would just be another title that goes by the wayside.
He sucks, until he praises the PS3 again, right? When MGS4 came out and he was saying how awesome the graphics and technology are, he was the best thing ever.
Oh no, someone said something the slightest bit critical of the PS3 - disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree disagree
Babies.
MS were first timers last gen with Xbox 1. It's only natural that they took some time taking a chunk out of Sony's market. Now with the 360, they are actually leading this far into the generation, and they may never give up the lead this gen, something no one thought possible last time around.
There are several key factors to MS's success. The first is being the first one to market. Having to wait a full year for next gen games and graphics was too much for a lot of people,...
I didn't know it was possible for one game to be scared of another. Maybe they'll fall in love and be butt-buddies.
