As a non-American I wouldn't have a clue whether those events even happened, let alone how big the audiences were.

That is a very worrying issue. Nintendo normally release the most solid, bug-free, heavily tested software (I'm in no way a fan of Nintendo games, but even I know that), for them to fail to spot a bug that can destroy the system is really bad.
I know that this bug must be very rare (or we would have heard more about it), but Nintendo should be issuing an official warning not to use the game mode until this is fixed.

FarCry4 is really good, apart from that I'd agree with you.
I did get Watchdogs given to me for my birthday, I think if I had swallowed the hype I would have been disappointed, but I wasn't expecting anything special and because of that I enjoyed it more than most seemed to.
PS4 has lots of great free to play games. I didn't have to buy any games for months.

All those new Black Friday Xbox owners must be thinking that Live is a broken, low quality service (those that are new to consoles at least). Microsoft (and Sony) need to get on top of this fast.
I don't know if they can though, there will always be idiots out there who don't have enough knowledge/imagination to produce something creative, but just enough knowledge to do something destructive.
