It IS quite hilarious that Epic Games' very own engine, Unreal Engine 4, is the same engine that PUBG runs on too. So does that mean that Epic Games have access to all the data that PUBG have to feed to Epic during development?
@newagenoir Seems you are the only one who has read this article and doesn't have a clue what its about.
Its a non-issue because I am boycotting the game straight up.
@moldybread One is free and finished and the other is literally an unfinished game still in early access that can then get away with bugs and problems because of that status. There, that's a lot less vague now.
I think Evolve died a fairly quick death after 2 months too.
Oh well, I'm glad nobody else listened to Cliffy back in 2011 when he said crap like "AAA Indie gaming is dead". http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
In the link above he even "went on to warn developers in the audience that gamers today demand value. Fail to offer it, and you're doomed." No joke lol.
Its quite ironic that Ninja ...
Meanwhile other devs like Ninja Theory were doing something different and it paid off.
@Maybay Lol so Square Enix trying to claim that Tomb Raider is more an Xbox franchise when defending its timed exclusivity wasn't a complete "biting the hand that feeds you" to PlayStation fans, you know that console family that pretty much has every single game in the franchise including the first 5 games in the series too?
That was FAR more an F U to the fans. Actually so was the disastrous decision to make Munch's Oddysse on Xbox too, where EA and Micro...
@Deep-throat And going by the sales of Xbone "exclusives" this gen, not just the average Xbnox gamer, but apparently the hardcore Xbox gamer doesn't even care about exclusives.
You are damn right, the numbers don't lie with exclusive games never even hitting that million mark on Xbox but then PS4 exclusives hit the 5 million mark easily.
Thank goodness the average gamer cares both about a vast range of 3rd party exclusives AND 1st party exclusive...
@darthv72 The new Blade Runner doesn't have loot boxes though.
Oh well, there is always next time with Forza 8 in 2019.
"but it's still something to get rather excited about."
Then why does a Gran Turismo fan like me not give a rats about this game?
@ONESHOTV2 WOW, what an incredible argument against exclusives.
"I only have a PS4 because it has 2 game series that I NEED to be able to play but exclusives mean nothing" hahahahaha.
Guess what, you still named TWO franchises, not games, but games that have more than 4 games in their series. How many people do you think want to play those games also BUT even more? Millions upon millions of gamers perhaps like PS4 sales suggest?
THIS. I worked in a Gamestop with a few lads that hated everything Micorsfot did with Xbone at its reveal and all the way up to launch. All the staff received free PS4's and Xbones for being the highest sellers of BOTH consoles because we pushed them both so hard (I actually didn't work in the store, I worked in the head office).
Yet these lads still came round to Xbox in the end and still gamed primarily on it earlier in the gen. I caught up with them about 2 month...
@Woolly_ We also would have accepted "if you have so many games why aren't you playing them?" and other classic regurgitated crap like "you PS4 fanboys are so fanboy like and I'm most certainly not".
@Xenophon_York And there is even more you left out such as the well reviewed Everybody's Golf. :)
Then there are substantial great remasters too like Wipeout Omega Collection but I guess they don't count unless Xbox fans are over hyping an upscale port of an old original Xbox game with deliberately added in micro transactions. THEN remasters are okay.
And then there is the fact that your list doesn't include FUTURE games too that Xbox fans would most c...
And Sony's primary weapon against Xbox this gen? GDDR5 architecture from the get go with proprietary game engines built from the ground up with this in mind to take advantage of the console. Guess what? They won the generation already.
Does somebody want to argue that Mark Cerny saying "8gbs GDDR5" at the PS4 reveal in February 2013 WASN'T that big of a deal, especially after Digital Foundry claimed 2 months prior that there was NO WAY the PS4 could possibly have 8...
Wow, what an insightful and detailed comment. Its almost as impacting as "just you wait until next E3, you will all be eating crow then" that we have been hearing the last 3 years.
In about the space of 5 years or so we got FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX and FFX. You COULD say a few people enjoyed those games too but nothing compared to the fanbase of FFXIII-2...................... .............lol.
The "brink of disaster" sure is an understatement.
The picture above of Milo was definitely a nice hilarious memory though.
