A real positive not requiring online suggests that DRM is not part of their plans either ( if your not online how can they check your disk)
Sony is certainly putting gamers first and deserve our support as gamers.
Well said PopRocks, anyone supporting this sort of anti consumer crap is doing gaming no favours, it is about far more than just games anyone who says otherwise should wake up before this DRM, etc nightmare becomes real.
Don't support it people for the good of gaming no matter what console it's on.
I could very easily dismiss this as something that doesn't affect me, I only buy games new and don't trade them either, but I am not that naive, DRM is just another attempt to control gaming and for companies to make more money from gamers.
I will never support DRM or anything ekse that restricts my gaming experience, paying for online was just the start if gamers don't make a stand more will follow, just say no, the software companies will not just walk away from...
You can only laugh at posters like FrigidDARKNESS calling something Fanboyish lol.
As for games I have said before that unless M$ change their anti consumer ideas, Paying for online, DRM, 24 hour check in, Kinect always on etc then it doesn't matter what games they offer, as long as Sony doesn't try any of that crap it will be PS4 for me.
With their anti consumer policies I don't give a toss what games they show until they change their DRM plans etc as well as paying for online the xbox one has no interest to me.
mcstorm nice to see someone else remembering the Amiga, great memories, but I have a switcher box that allows me to switch quite easily between my PS3 and sky, and I don't need to pay an online subscription or any of the other things M$ will charge me for.
Nice to meet another amiga-man though, but as far as switching between tv and console, i'll take the option that won't charge me thanks.
I'm on SKY and it means nothing to me either lol.
So M$ have a deal with SKY,
Umm I also have a deal with SKY and it works perfectly without you M$.
I was told to wait for the 21st, I did and because that turned into more M$ money grabbing DRM, kinect and 24 hour check I now have to wait for E3?
Nah I'll stick to PS4 thank you very much.
Monkey it is people like you that give me hope for next gen, have a well said bubble.
xbox owners willing to pay for online set a really dangerous precedent, I am not in the least bit surprised that M$ would see it as a green light to make more charges with DRM.
if Sony implements their own DRM the blame will be the xbox owners defending this crap, one thing I do know Sony had better keep putting gamers first or I will abandon their console too.
luckily I have more faith in them than M$ to make the right decision.
I have argued long and hard about M$ forcing you to pay for online, if Sony tries it or any of the other M$ anti consumer practices guess what I would not buy a Playstation either.
It's in your hands Sony follow the M$ greed train or respect gamers and your supporters.
And guess what no EA game will make into my collection that has any form of DRM.
The paying for online bull won't change and thats enough for me not to buy it, the rest of the crap is just typical M$, screw them because they will certainly screw anyone foolish enough to buy their DRM infested box.
Did M$ have a competition to see how many anti consumer ideas they could fit into the xbox one?
Jeez if they dig their hole any deeper the only chance they have of making money from this stupid device is if they strike oil.
If Sony keep their first party titles DRM free that will do me, any 3rd party games that have any form of DRM will not see me spend a penny of my money on them.
Are you listening EA?
Because of the ease of development for the PS4 bringing it to the new platform should be a piece of cake.
Very good indeed well worth reading.
Ummm lets think, PS4 or DRM always on kinect and 24 hour check in xbox one.................. ummm thats a tricky one........................... PS4 for me I have a vita so i'm sorted.
maybe a pc gaming rig in the future
It is good to see so many gamers coming together to voice their opinion about the direction M$ is trying to take gaming, for me paying for online was a bridge too far, now it seems DRM and the rest of M$ policies are galvanising opinion and a large majority of gamers seem ready to demand better.
I hope so, consumers have a lot of power if they make the right choices.
