Aww that's sad, it's too bad that in order to remain competitive all the big business have to remain very walled off from each other. Sharing resources could lead to very quick progress, technology wise.

They should just license frostbyte 2 for the next game. I know it'd be like sleeping with the enemy or something but it's a superior engine.

They could very likely even reuse many of their art and sound assets with little trouble. Making gameplay the same is only a matter of tweaking physics and motion.

Windows 8 doesn't seem appealing to mm. Features, looks, the whole thing seems like it was designed for a touch interface.

I know their trying to make a next gen ui but so far I think linux and apple are going in better directions than windows.

If the steam support valves working on catches on with more companies I will definitely be switch over to that. The new gnome interface is looking kind of neat, and the ubuntu one isn't too bad either.

It was a great game, one of the few games I'll probably never trade or sell.

It was funny in the article how nonchalant he was about the next generation. Totally just yeah whatevered the whole thing. I'm with him though they should sit on it for another few years.

You would think they would want to have a really secure system included with their DRM and Auction house business.

Just goes to show their only worried about protecting their own asses and care little about the consumers.

I like to check reviews on many games I'm looking to get but I usually try to read at least three. One that says how great the game is, one that says how terrible it is, and then I try to find some that are kind of middle of the road.

Though a large part of using reviews for purchasing advice is just getting to know the tastes of the reviewer. I like to watch zero punctuation and have purchased games he thought were awful because the things he didn't like were things ...

This is not newsworthy

It's not in my future thats for sure.

There's thin thing purchasing things where when you have alternatives you can get something else.

That's what I'll be doing. If the next box requires me to get a contract I just won't involve myself with that system. If the next playstation needs a contract I will do the same.

There's always the pc.

They probably had to switch companies because activision kept telling them they couldn't make the game they wanted to make.

I had lots of fun with killzone 3 and move. I'm going to get bioshock infinite on ps3 so I can play it with move. Sorcery looks protty good so I'll be getting that too. But that's a pretty short list, they showed sorcery before move released, and it's been ages since killzone 3 came out. I know I can play it with infamous 2 and uhh a couple other games that also added it in after release but those games are better with the controller.

Now people will start saying serious sam is xbox exclusive.

Lol at least more people get to have some awesome oldschool serious same action.

Seriously that's all stuff you should be expecting from the next installment of a series. All series, should improve or accomplish everything on that list every time a new game comes out.

On next gen consoles every shooting game should feature battlefield style destruction or better. It's next bloody generation if I can't bring down every wall in the city I'll be a bit disappointing to be honest.

I know it's goofy hey, I always kind of wonder when they do that. It kind of makes it a multi platform list, why even bother including the ps3 name and restricting their article.

Maybe they hate the xbox or something.

You know what you never see a list of the best pc exclusive anythings lol.

The always on line thing is such a stupid move. Here I can solve the single player hacking modding to multiplayer problem right now.

Store multiplayer character saves on blizzard servers. There solved can we be rid of the drm now.

In any case they aren't souly responsible I'm jure the creative process worked like this.

Blizzard: Made diablo 3

Activision: Insisted upon drm, and the auction house

Well look at how their system is being run. They usually have two years to develop a game. Unless they did take a multi year hiatus to reboot there is no time to do more than upgrade a bit along the way.

Even worse since treyarch was stated as helping out with modern warfare 3 they may arguably have had less time to work full force on black ops 2. They likely only used part of the team on mw3 but it is what it is. In order for activision to buff infinity ward up to normal ru...

Very true it's an oft understated aspect of portable game development.

Metal gear solid peace walker managed that transition very well. Which is a good way to contrast the two ways of developing within the same genre.
