Hey if they made it play like an actual mass effect game it could be pretty good. The problem with swtor is that it plays very similarly to most other mmorpgs. Which is a problem in a game with jedi, since it makes using the lightsaber feel pretty lame.
I want to cut things in half with the lightsaber not hit them four or five times doing no 'visible' damage.
Then there wouldn't be anything special at all. It really would just be a wii2, or worse if they went with normal controllers.
I'm not especially keen on the tablet thing but it's totally better than being the first released weakest console and having no gimmick at all.

Your totally right of course, but you'll get lots of people disagreeing with you because their desperate for another console.
I can see a few reasons why but their all kind of nullified by the graphics in exclusive games. Pc envy can only go so far as a valid reason.
The other reasons are strictly just a want reaction. Which has nothing driving it but a base instinct to purchase something.

They seem like a stubborn old company thats unwilling to change on any terms but it's own. Reggie's said it the last tw0 E3's. The same but new! Just like old people want.
Homefront had so much potential too. After I heard about it I was thinking about tense situations protecting civilians from bad guys. There was like two minutes of that in the beginning, but then it ended up just being a game about a guy who's in a bunch of things that fall over. Then it ended up being the shortest rebellion ever.
they only seem to take notes from call of duty, uncharted, and grand theft auto lately.
I would like to chair a motion that trophies and achievements are over rated.

Well yeah... but I did actually mean 1985 as in the time before we had super cheap easily accessible computers that could do almost anything more efficient than a person. Especially checking comments for swear words.
Sure whatever message comment it's text that other people see, internet people and semantics I tells ya. Yeah but we have like computers and stuff that should easily be able to do that. My point is the physical need to have an actual person doing those things is ridiculous.

Mistaken or not any excuse to talk about planetside 2 is great. It's looking to be about the best sci fi shooter coming out in the near future.
It's not a gimmick this isn't the fifties. yeah 3d on the console options kinda blows. Thats not detrimental to the effect itself when it's done right.
Play a 3d compatable pc game on a rig hooked up to a big 3dtv. Totally mind blowing stuff compared to any console attempts. On the pc you can get it going 1080p at 60 fps per eye, with all the graphical bells and whistles turned on.
This is all while leaving out the numerous engineers and scientis...
Well the rumored specs are no where near as different from general pc architecture than the cell was. The wiiu doesn't get a pass on those grounds. Also since it'll technically be an eigth gen console it only doing 720 is kinda silly.
Why would they not have their games upscale.
Emulators do it soo much better than the ones companies put on their consoles. There's really no reason that the wii u shouldn't be able to upscale the base resolution to hd settings if it's even as powerful as a mid ranged computer.
Their always lazy with their backwards compatibility. Look at the poor quality of the sega classics, their bloody sega games and they don't upscale them or render any ...

It would almost be nice to see all those devs stick with this gen for one more game after those. They've got all their engines working properly and have mostly only put out one game this gen. They've put a lot of time into all those engines and this next years batch of games all look pretty amazing. Especially from a story and gameplay perspective. I suppose since they already mostly have graphics in the bag they can spend more resources on those aspec...
I don't think a new batch of consoles will solve the problem. I think the issues that game hardware and software are facing are part of a larger general economy issue.
Obviously as more and more people become out of work, and more and more people become no longer eligible for unemployment insurance, fewer people will purchase luxury items.
