You know what, DaveyB? I think that if yesterday had gone differently you would be singing a very different tune.
We only "don't matter" until casual gamers take a good look at the price and say "no thanks"- then suddenly, we become vital to the success of a console. What a mysterious occurence.
Even if casuals do buy it, Microsoft are forgetting that a lot of them will buy maybe 4,5 games all gen, and that the second they see something fancier they'll jump ship.
I remember arguing with someone about the possibility of an offline pass. I said it would never happen.
I was a fool.
Paying for applause... pathetic.
Yes Molyneux, Microsoft has ascended to the next plane of existence, where the contents of cubes can change lives and where ridiculous promises about your games always match the reality. :/
Because people only write articles about consoles if they aren't relevent?
"We're entertaining every other possible idea, so why not this one?"
Because sometimes the ideas that nobody talks about, the ones that scare us the most, are the most distinct possibilities. I won't be surprised if people stick with the current gen for about a year and a half after all the new consoles are out, both hoping for a price drop and for the very best current gen games to come out (as tends to be the case as a console cycle winds down.)
Lol, just 13%? That actually sounds about right for most modern Squeenix games.
Wow, that isn't irony OR correct! Way to go, you were wrong on two levels at once!
I'd have called this article "Peter Molyneux and Ian Livingstone don't know what they're talking about", but then I suppose that's hardly news.
"counter-corporate culture aficionados."
That was a pretty corporate way of describing them.
She's supposed to be tough but kind, except we never really see the kind part. Even if Lightning Returns does manage to flesh out her character, it really says something that it took three whole games to do it.
"Most of them are just funny little things or observations about the characters. When you get to Cloud and Sephiroth, however, things take a turn. With Cloud, she says all he does is mope around and is therefore an uninteresting character. She then goes on to say Sephiroth is supposed to be pretty popular, but he really isn't that attractive."
Had this come from a decent character it would've been funnier, but from "why am I even in this game?" Pen...
It's a change worth resisting, MikeMyers.
Quite clever of you to end on Bioshock, I would have stopped reading after reading that one.
Disagree completely, a HD remaster would get me to replay, I already own a PS2 copy so a PS2 classic rerelease would be worthless to me.
A well researched piece, even if the slight distain for hardcore gamers on the part of the author soured the article a little for me.
I think I took issue more with the ADD remark. I know a lot of great people with ADD, and this idiot decides to self diagnose himself after commiting a monstrous act, as if he has any clue what the hell he is talking about.
"'I feel crazy and I know I'm not. I think I have some form of ADD"
Don't flatter yourself kid, you are nothing less than a psychopath.
Judging from the feedback online, specifially the backlash towards the pre used thing rumoured months ago, I'd say this is an Xbox that DOES ignore the web.
