I hope the opposite, Insomniac shouldn't automatically be successful just because of excellence in the past, if anthing if this sells well it will encourage them not to try harder in the future.
I WENT to one of those schools, you ass.
What really bothers me is that Microsoft keep struggling to get their facts straight. I'd honestly prefer whatever bad news they have to this "Yes. No. Maybe?" BS they keep getting into.
greenpowerz, let's look at it like this;
-PS4 showed no console but a wide variety of games
-Xbone showed a console but nothing special games wise.
I know which I'd prefer when watching a conference.
"-Like bottom of the barrel, special school kind of debate."
And with that one phrase, you lost all my sympathy. Grow up.
"Game consoles are being attacked and marginalized by cheaper, simpler smartphone and tablet games-"
You forgot "crappier".
Kinect: Hey, I'm listening too! Even when you don't want me to.
ESPECIALLY when you don't want me to.
I'm sure it is, but I'm not interested in it.
A big problem with mobile development is that it's extremely crowded- it's like trying to send a message in a bottle while millions of others are doing the same thing at the same place; it's pretty much up to luck whether anyone reads your message, let alone a decent audience.
"I don't think "deeper" is the goal for many of them.
"More lucrative" sounds more accurate imo.
Rovio is proof that sometimes memorable character design is all you need for succcess.
You know,I was going to write a long rant, but you are honestly being fairly reasonable, so I suggest we just agree to disagree on this one. I'm still reeling from the colossal disappointment that I felt the Xbox conference was, so I'm hardly impartial right now, so you're hardly going to get a decent debate out of me regardless.
Anyone that already owns an iPhone would look at Xbox One and think "been there, done that."
Alternate title: Click here, please!
Edit:Seriously? You're defending this crappy article? Why?
Captain Quark 9, we don't just want another "good" dev.
We want Rare. Years ago, they earned that name with exceptional titles. Now, they're just another face in the crowd, pumping out soulless kinect crud and relying on past glories.
I'm sorry, but as a completionist I find the idea of limited edition achievements to be horrible; I don't want to permanently miss out on a award because I was busy at work or something.
Day one achievements are pretty bad too, they sound like just another cynical marketing exercise.
"We don’t think that it’s entirely unfair to say that Microsoft’s big Xbox One unveiling didn’t quite go to plan"
The biggest understatement since "It's kinda hard to live without oxygen."
Completely disagreed with the article, I bet this guy would be telling us to "embrace the future" if the Borg were trying to assimilate us.
Edit: Guess the reference was too nerdy or something, oh well.
"I’m impressed."
Yes, you are. Quite easily, in fact.
So true, I remember the time I bought a friend a beer and they had to pay the bartender again before they could drink it.
It was for the people who almost certainly weren't watching, and probably aren't even all that interested.
Are you implying that not being interested in the console is being irrational?
