define dead.
That won't be specific to Ubi though. It never was...
And it was.
"Closing of the studio
On 18 February 2014 it was announced by Ken Levine via an open letter posted on the Irrational Games Website that Irrational Games would be closing. All but fifteen members of the Irrational Games staff would get laid off with the team helping them to find new jobs within and outside of 2K Games and that 2K was now in charge of the BioShock IP. A career day was hosted by Irrational Games for the remaining 75 employees to help seek employment at 57 other stu...
PS plus doesn't count but xbox live gold does count, since you keep the licence even if you're not gold anymore. So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if 3+ million people added Infinite to their account using gold.
According to steamspy, Infinite sold about 3.5 million copies on Steam. Then, knowing it was given for free with games with gold in march 2015, and on PS+ in february 2014, it really wouldn't be that surprising to see it reach 7m digital copies (even without PS+ which is technically just a rent).
@lelo2play Why indeed. My guess would be a mix between inflated ego (Levine is the "soul" of irrational after all...), being on the verge of a burnout, and 2k willing to do whatever he says to keep him.
Also maybe calling the studio "irrational" was a bad omen :D
If I recall correctly, Levine just decided to "kill" Irrational cause he wanted to work on smaller projects.
The storyline of each class is very much kotor-like though. You should have played it when there was the x12 boost. You'd have experienced the storylines without having to do any MMO stuff.
Right. For someone who named himself "scientificreasoning" ;, you seem to be lacking in that department.
Pay attention :
1) He said "Let's hope this marketshare rises to 95% or 100%. "
2) I replied "Why would you want a monopoly ?"
Let's define monopoly : "the exclusive possession or control of the supply of or trade in a commodity or service."

Why would you want a monopoly ? it's never been a good thing.
Well, they made a bunch of great indie looking games in the last few years with their ubi-rt engine, new Rayman games, Child of light, Valiant hearts...not so bad.
Terrible visuals ?
So South Park or The Bard's Tale are better than bloodborne then ?
Why these examples ? Well, because when you say the WORST JRPGs are better than the BEST WRPGs, you're asking for that kind of example ? I obviously wasn't gonna ask him if he thought Xenoblade Chronicles X was better than Arcania...
And I have no problem with him prefering JRPGs, I like quite a few myself. I'm just asking if he really means what he said, cause that seems a bit extreme.
Really ? You really think that Enchanted Arms is better than Skyrim and Lightning Return is better than The Witcher 3 ?
Is this about how many games you can name ?
WRPGs used to sell next to nothing on consoles compared to JRPGs, even in the west. There was the occasional exception that sold well (like morrowind on xbox), but most of the best selling RPGs were JRPGs, whether it was in the US, Europe, or Japan. The WRPG domination saleswise only started last gen.
@Army_of_Darkness are you seriously saying Watch_dogs didn't look great ? It was flawed... but the downgrade was not any more "massive" than TW3.
You really think swimming and horse control is better than in other RPGs ? The game is great, but it has its flaws too...
