Considering one is Xbox exclusive and the other is multi-platform, no. Halo may be better than CoD, but to "kill" CoD you have to out sell it. Which won't happen with Halo 4 being exclusive to one system.

You are also completely forgetting the difference in resolution. As far as I know consoles do not run games at full HD, but are up-scaled(there may be a few exceptions). PC games go much higher than that, and have for quite a while now.

Single-player won't go away, but online only SP games worry me.
The problem, as I see it, is games having to make more and more money just to break even. Online MP and store help make ends meet.
A few years ago I really thought SP was being sacrificed for MP. Now I see more SP games going online and using MTs.
I don't see SP gaming under threat, just offline SP.

Fact is pre-rendered means that it cannot be done in real time. In the future, sure, but the next gen console are that far off.

Its not. Pure and simple. It may be the best on a purely subjective level to someone, but that does not grant it the title of greatest ever. (Or anywhere close for that matter)

I think the idea that this is what Id has come to might also play a role as well. At this point I can't see Doom 4 being very successful. Not that I want it to fail, but times have changed, a lot.

Only need one tip:
Play the game.
Seriously, nearly everything gives generous amounts of XP and the story quest XP scales. Crafting gives huge amounts of xp.
Only thing that really doesn't give great XP is killing things.
If you are having a really hard time finding things to do, just start clearing maps. Its not hard and will help you find events.
Still don't think 100$ is anything to complain about, hopefully people will feel better now that they don't have to take out a 2nd mortgage for the 100$ fee on Greenlight.
Then again developers could always NOT use Greenlight if its too expensive. Self-publishing must be way cheaper, right?

No. Though they might evolve to something different in the future, but still provide all the advantages consoles offer. They could become upgradable to a small degree.
The console market is huge, so there is no chance its doomed. There's also no way it will just go away either.
