"While this is hardly the first study to link violent video games with aggression, it is the first of its kind to provide experimental evidence that this aggression accumulates with time, thereby leading to potential long-term effects."
No. Establishing a link requires experimentation and evidence, not speculation.
As to this test, I hardly consider ending a story in a different way as an indicator of heighten aggression in the real world. Simply be...
And when a "responsible" gun owner makes a mistake, like shooting a bystander?
Do you really need multiple assault weapons to feel safe? 10/30 round mag? Explain to me the necessity of owning an AR-15 with multiple 10/30 round mags. Useless for hunting. Nearly useless for home defense.
Here's a thought, if its defense you're worried about, let's get rid of the weapons that are useless in that regard. How about we limit ones ability to a...
Agree and disagree with Sleeping Dogs. Visuals were done well but the controls were a nightmare.
Not hating on the game, its great, but its controls were so absurd as to be worth mentioning IMO.
To be "fair" they did at the beginning, then later they had one of their writers post an article hating the ending.
It was probably just for hits though.
@witwicky343
Valve got credit because of Steams success. They were the first to actually make DD mainstream. The reason was simple, everyone else thought it would fail.
Of course you don't hold them in high regard, you weren't even aware they sold 3rd party titles.
Ignorance doesn't make you more objective.
When I see a title ending with ":The Video Game" I think "movie-game".
@BlackTar187 @Irishguy95
I stand corrected. And yes, I was indeed too lazy to look it up myself, so thanks for the replies.
They shot an SUV to Mars and landed it using a retro-rocket powered crane. If that isn't a sense of humor I don't know what is.
Those are not exact copies. The photos may have been used but its NOT a direct "copy/paste" job.
Please, the last thing I want is to defend these asshats, but copyright infringement isn't that easy to prove.
There is barely enough info on the photos themselves. Not every single image automatically has a copyright attached to it. Its a pretty weak case when you look at it objectively.
The misleading Steam page was FAR worse than ...
Ha! That actually looks kinda fun.
Any of the disagrees care to lay an actual case for copyright infringement? I'm willing to hear you out.
Sure its bad form, but from what I have seen there is enough of a difference as to not violate the copyright.
Also, compared to the rest of the crap they pulled, you can't honestly believe this is really that big of an issue.
Go with the Guild Wars model. Charge up front and for expansions, then add a trading post. Subscriptions are finished. I think f2p just ends up p2w.
I prefer paying up front. I don't mind if you jack up the price to 70$ or 80$ for a full MMO.
Please tell me the title isn't Star Trek: The Video Game.
Ohh NASA. Spoiling everyone's fun with facts and logic.
Its kinda funny that one of the underlying themes was a Rorschach test.
You find racism anywhere if you look hard enough.
I'll say this, so far, only the media seems to care about this.
Didn't have a choice really. I mean there is really no hiding from it.
I thought they wanted to make this game f2p with some MTs. I remember thinking "How are they going to make money?" when it was first announced. Anyone remember that or know why they changed it? (though its probably obvious)
So now the media gives a crap about proper narratives and tropes? Where the hell were all these "critics" when ME3 took a narrative dump on all our faces? Oh, right, too busy calling everyone "whiners" and screaming about "artistic integrity".
Guess the media wants to whine about something. So they go after a game that had a story that, lets be honest, was kinda forgettable. FC3 is foremost an open-world FPS with a story that adds a bit of flavo...
CoD isn't to blame, its the rising cost of development which requires a larger audience that is. No matter what, the higher the budget, the more it has to appeal to a larger audience, thus CoD and every clone there of.
Lowering the budget and targeting the core audience and building on that might help.
Personally, I could do with less eye-candy if it meant I could keep the experience that hooked me in the first place.
Well its not that big of a deal, I doubt it infringes on any copyrights.
Still funny, watching this go down.
@isyourhouseonfire
"Trolling is when a person says things to incite others. My comments, however, are based on fact and meant to engage others in conversation."
Not based on fact. Guild Wars 2. Debate over. I could give several actual facts to refute your absurd attempt at sparking a discussion, but I decided just to name the first PC only title that came to mind.
By the way is Skyrim playable on PS3 yet?
May as we...
