Mod tools?
PC gamers weren't exactly given a lot of choices. Stores devoted at most an end-cap of space to PC games. So we were left with ordering online for a physical copy or going digital.
Digital was just easier, with Steam. Which is why it was successful. For the most part digital copies are 50$ and Steam sales will offer deep discounts. This is why people stick with Steam, they made it easy and offer cheap prices twice a year.
With digital titles comes a cert...
DIY.
Custom PC dealers are way over priced.
1. Get a nice big case if its your first build.
2. Don't expect it to be 100% when you first start up. It takes time to "settle".
3. But after all is said and done you will have a system that is "yours" and no one else's.
Its a good first attempt, but Tressfx has a ways to go yet. I would say 75% of the time it looks great, but in TR the collsion is messed up so it floats and it tends to do strange things at times.
Someone has to pave the way, so its decent overall.
@cpayne93
It said plain as day "We asked PETA". A soon as I read that I knew this all manufactured BS.
But as you can see, AC4 came under attack by an over-zealous organization like PETA and gamers jump to its defense. Now gamers are talking about PETA and not franchise fatigue.
EDIT you aren't seeing things, it was changed.
This was in headline on N4G.
"That last part, the whaling, is some...
Free to play the games Sony wants you to play.
Consoles are DRM. That the point of a closed eco-system. Sony controls the content of its systems. Patch certification?
Never thought anyone would choose a console to escape the tyranny of Steam.
I have no problem with consoles, gamers have plenty of reasons to prefer them over a PC. This isn't an attack on your platform.
What do you think PETA would say if you called and asked them their opinion on whaling in a video game?
They weren't calling for censorship, they were asked what they thought about it.
This was an entirely manufactured controversy, and who came out looking good?
While I don't agree with what PETA said, they were asked by a gaming publication their view on the matter. PETA probably wouldn't have cared in the least about AC4 had a gaming site not sought their opinion in order to create controversy.
Had PETA said this on their own it would be different.
Nice job repeating what a couple of "illusionists" told you.
PETA is over-zealous at times but they aren't any worse than those who who treat the natural world like their own dumpster, to do with as they please.
Jealous?
@deafdani
Are they anymore extreme than the people who would hunt entire species out of existence if laws didn't stop them?
PETA is not against having pets. They have a problem with treating animals like garbage.
But you could also go to their site and read it for yourself.
@witwicky343
They were ASKED their opinion on a video game depicting whaling. What did you think they would say? Ask a homo-phobe about homosexuality ...
"we asked PETA for its feelings on the matter"
Pretty clear I think.
Ohh please, whaling was for profit, not for survival. And it got way out of control. We nearly hunted them to extinction, which is why we had to stop.
Whaling was not "hunting for survival".
And PETA isn't against hunting for survival, its hunting for sport they take issues with.
Little ironic don't you think?
Last thing a dying kid wants is to kill something:/
Was PETA really going answer any other way?
Its one thing if PETA took it upon itself to release this statement, quite another when they are asked by Gamesbeat.
Just an attempt to gin up controversy for hits.
And it seems to have worked.
There was talk of people leaving the project a while back. At the time it sounded like it was canned, guess not.
Wow you're right. It doesn't even come close. Wonder what that was all about.
Ohh, I don't know, maybe battle the Reapers instead of some random space brat.
Something similar to ME2s final mission is what I actually expected. Except like a crazy version of it.
What we got was an meh battle for Earth capped of by 1 ending in 3 different colors that made no sense. It was so cheap and clearly rushed.
You talking about way back in the day?
Because I remember that being true under certain circumstances and depended on the game. I may be mistaken but back when there was choice OpenGL wasn't better 100% of the time.
EA: "Just that pesky vocal minority, SimCity is spectacular!"
You know its coming.
