Unlike the Witcher 3, I can see MP being a good fit here.

For the most part I don't care much about MP. But although I have a burning hatred of ME3, I was actually surprised by the MP.

That and this being CDPR are why I am willing to hear them out before objecting.

One of Valve's objectives is "in-home" streaming from a capable PC.

Gabe doesn't think streaming services like "Onlive" are good for anything more than demos.

Another objective is a PC with a console form-factor.

And finally, a Linux based solution.

All of these will take time, as in many years.

This is apparently a very hard concept to grasp.

Valve is not making a console. They are trying to change the PC platform.

Even if a few people buy the Piston with Steam and Linux, Valve will be able to gather some outside data.

When you consider the form-factor the price is justifiable. Might be on the high side, but not outrageous.

My issue is that you have to go through Xi3 for the parts.

I had no spoilers going into it but my assumption was that it would be structured in the same way as ME2s ending. Except bigger and more intense. More deciding who does what job and whether I had prepared enough.

It was just a standard mission capped off by a holographic insult and confusion.

Nailed it.

Have to disagree with the first part. What on Earth would give that idea?

CDPR is based near the piracy capital of the world and have been staunchly anti-DRM.

They also don't believe in charging for DLC. To my knowledge they have never charged for DLC.

First off, I am perfectly willing to hear what CDPR has to say.

What you don't seem to understand is the fate of a game is ultimately decided by those who buy it.

Creative "freedom" is a myth when money is involved.

EA/Maxis listened to their instincts and the result was SimCity.

"If they do what they want, we will only know when it arrives.
If they don't, we already know it is toned down to pleas...

What if it sucks and breaks the game?

Developer creativity isn't flawless, every crap game ever made is testament to that.

I would also say that Half-Life 2 was the by product of fan reaction to the leaked version.

They can do whatever they want, but they have to convince us to buy it.

I actually wonder if it was shown early because of the buyout in some way.

My first instinct is to say hell no. But this being from CDPR I'm willing to hear them out.

Yea Disney is capable of making a proper Star Wars movie. Not everything they do is rated G.

Question is what direction will they take. Personally, its high time they left the prequels were they belong, in the past.

LucasArt could have owned the space combat sim genre if they wanted to. The genre has manage to still advance on laughable budgets. i-novea was developed by a handful of people, and its the holy grail of the space genre.

Now look at the space expansion to SW galaxies. It was amazing, and really the only successor to X-Wing/TIE Fighter franchise.

Imagine actually flying an X-wing to the surface of Tatooine, in real time with actual size (or close to it).

The graphic novel was, not the movie.

I doubt they will learn anything from this, aside from having more/better servers for other always-on games at launch.

Good article.

And you think Valve is releasing an under-powered PC with Linux for 1000$, to compete with the PS4/720?

Do you have any idea how retarded that sounds? I mean really, Valve is not know for making questionable decisions much less completely stupid ones.

Valve is NOT releasing a console. The media is completely stupid and did not understand this point.

See how Sony is releasing the PS4? Valve is NOT doing that at all.

They are w...

Evidently you don't.

@trenso1

So because you can't see the reason, Valve hasn't either?

When you look at what Valve is doing through the lens of "entering the console business along side Sony, MS, and rest", it doesn't make sense. Why? Because they aren't doing that.

Valve is NOT making a console. Everybody keeps missing this key point. They are NOT making a console.

What they are doing is pushing Linux and moving the PC...

Well, better hurry and call Valve and tell them of your amazing discovery.

I love how everybody thinks Valve missed the blatantly obvious.

If it seems absurd maybe you need to rethink what YOU think they are actually doing.
