Surprise Fallout 4 announcement...?
Wow, I guess I missed the news we were getting a new Deus Ex. Guess I should finish up the last one then.
I like your enthusiasm!
I personally enjoy the approach taken to the stories in CoD and BF. I know it's over-the-top Hollywood and a typical mix of cynicism and "America, F%&k yeah!". But what can I say - it's an enjoyable ride in first person.
That said, I agree about your BF point. I don't get the love CoD MP gets when the BF option is out there. Unless people enjoy the more intimate experience of CoD's MP. Like KZ: Shadow Fall, it's small scale and perhaps deman...
Agreed. Anarcho-capitalism is much better.
Well damn, it's basically the background story of MGS4. PMCs, disintegrating borders, new rules of war, the crossover of technology and the military, and (from the trailer), the story of those who want to bring order to a craving world.
The ridiculousness is strong with this one...
But I can. I have a choice between two potential sorts of product: an open world RPG or a story-driven RPG. Even at that abstract level of description, I prefer open world, so if the product is that, it will have more value to me. If the product is story-driven, even if it is a great game, it isn't as interesting to me as an open world game qua genre. Couple that with the fact that Bioware screwed me on their last story-driven RPG in the series, and the value of the story-driven option dr...

A "paywall" that comes down over time, and would likely vanish when an updated version of the game comes out. If someone pays full price at launch, they are making an economic calculation regarding the value of the game *at this time* vs. the value of the game *at some future time*. No company can "force" a consumer or "manipulate" a consumer into paying full price at launch. If you don't like the deal that the company is offeri...
Not high expectations at all, to my mind. See my comment to DrJones below, but I'll add this: The game may very well be great, and their world may be one of the best realized in recent times. But I won't gamble $60 on it and I won't reward the company for "saving" the series after they screwed me with DA2. They got $60 from me for that, $60 that I wouldn't have paid but for the success of the first game and certainly wouldn't have paid had I waited and read the r...
You're right, I don't know that much about it. But they shafted us so bad with DA2 that I use that context in my decision regarding DA3. I was on the fence about buying DA3 early in its life simply on the basis of my experience with DA2. That the world won't be as big or immersive as Skyrim (cf. Witcher 3) is the final nail - NOT for the game as such, but for my buying it early. Had they offered a game with a big and immersive world, I would have considered an early purchase. Now,...
Ouch.
@mhunterjr
Then it wouldn't sell.
@randomass171
"Forcing"?
Don't know. What do you think?
Why assume that other "prologues" will sell? I bought GZ because it was an MGS game. I trust Kojima and the MGS brand. If Resident Evil 7 Prologue comes out, like hell am I buying that. Same goes for Dragon Age 3 Prologue, or Final Fantasy XV Prologue, or whatever. If Elder Scrolls VI Prologue comes out, I'll consider it. The success of Gran Turismo Prologue and GZ reduced entirely to the trust fans have in the series, combined with a desire or the product. These facts don't...
What little interest I had in this game just vanished. I'll pick it up for $20 in two or three years, maybe.
But chopping off heads is acceptable?
So much hypocrisy...
That's pretty much how I interpreted it.
That is so true.
This is one of the most objective responses I've read on this site. Congratulations for being rational.
My wife is a Christian and loves scary games/movies. I fail to see what could possibly prohibit a Christian from enjoying fear.
EDIT. It occurs to me that my last sentence might be taken out of context. It presupposes the accuracy of PostMesmeric's comment.
