@hotnickles That's the impression that I'm getting. I think Destiny 2 will see minimal changes if any in the near future but either an additional team within Bungie or completely separate Sony team working working with/ guided by Bungie (seems to be the more likely scenario the more I've read) could make some major live service type of games in the future. I don't think this is the typical move to just buy up a developer to make their IPs exclusive. Sony hasn't had a lot ...
Damn it, I thought about Bungie as being one of the few acquisitions that would make sense and within reasonable cost (they're not buying EA, Ubisoft, or whatever huge publisher; too expensive for most companies) for Sony to address locking down a good first-person shooter franchise, and I didn't say much about it. Bungie's ability to make gunplay feel great is among the best despite being imaginary space guns from the future. This merger could create some crazy prospects. Imagine...
"even when they are released on PC, you need a really beefy rig to even feel you actually playing the "better" version than the original releases."
I've been having pretty good experiences with Horizon: ZD on PC:

I don't think it's going to be an issue for GT7. GT Sport looked way better on Pro than seemed possible for the hardware. Digital Foundry did a direct comparison with the PC version of a Forza game with max settings. Gran Turismo seems to still look incredible on whatever is the best machine available at the time.
The latest footage of Forbidden West looked way better than what I'd seen in the past, and it should look significantly better yet without compression...
I really enjoyed GT Sport. I was disappointed the wait for another full numbered game was so long, but even so quite a lot of additional content was added to Sport and it looked and played quite well. It also probably still has the best HDR I've seen in a game so far, which I'm expecting to finally be supplanted by GT7 very soon.
GT Sport had a VR mode, so I would be surprised if GT7 didn't get at least something like that down the road. I'm expecting quite a bit to be added over time as was the case for GT Sport.
LOL. I don't see anything the three of us said that was objectionable. N4G is a strange place.
I managed to find Elden Ring for $40 on cdkeys for PC during holiday sales. If I buy the PS4 version of Horizion: FW, you can upgrade that to the PS5 version for free, right? I'm a a frugal bastard because there are a lot of games I will be buying soon.
It looks like Halo. The graphics are decent but nowhere close to being among the best currently. It's a fun game to play and with a few tweaks (progression and various minor concerns) could be a great multiplayer game. I think the visuals are competent but not a big selling point for me. Games like Resident Evil Village and Metro Exodus blow Halo away visually. Forza Horizon 5 is also a more graphically impressive game than Halo. Ratchet is definitely the most graphically impressive game ...

Hopefully at the very least they have someone working on modern versions of Warhawk and SOCOM. There is a lot they could do with those franchises. I think Sony is starting to get too particular to the point that it's cutting down on the volume of games they can produce. They're shelving franchises and seem to be trying to get monster sales out of a few key franchises and want every game to receive a 9 or 10 from "critics" or they consider chucking...
@UltraNova Sony has several franchises they've just shelved and left to collect dust like Warhawk, SOCOM, Resistance, MotorStorm, Syphon Filter, Killzone, Sly, Jak and Daxter, ect. that would not require a multi-billion dollar acquisition or any money at all to have to rights to use given they already own this stuff. I'm sure there are plenty of teams that would have loved a chance to try something with those franchises. Apparently even games that were recent hits like Days Gone just...
Awesome, I just bought Hitman III and the rest of the DLC for 1 and 2 only to learn a week later most of this stuff is probably going to be included in my GamePass subscription. Oh, well, they're great games regardless.
@Crows90 "I am also confused..." I agree.
Part of the service of PS Now allows the subscriber to play PlayStation games on PC. There is a PS Now app you download and use to play whatever game from PS Now on your PC, but it is limited to STREAMING the PS4 version at 1080p. Thus, if I want to play Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC through PS Now, my only option is to STREAM the PS4 version at 1080p. No one who has built a gaming PC is going to have any interest in those ...
PS Now has zero PS5 and zero PC games, the two platforms I use. I don't see much use for the service in its current form. It could easily be made much better, but right now it has very little value for me. It's certainly not remotely competitive with GamePass for anyone playing on a current gaming platform.
Days Gone on Steam currently has "Very Positive" user reviews. User reviews on metacritic is at 8.4/10. It's a much better game that activist critics claimed. It was a bit rough technically right at launch (and thus could have legitimately been criticized for that) until improved with an early patch, but much of the content of reviews critiqued ridiculous things that had little to do with the quality of the game. The Game Spot review was particularly repugnant. Most of the peop...
Glad they didn't use confusing verbiage such as "dynamic DLSS," which would have been adequate for a lot of people to understand what it was just from the title.
Looking forward to DLDSR Type C A-spec and later x_X_DLDSR-Type R Extreme_X_x: Upscaler of the Year Edition.
I had copies of Hitman 1 and 2 but didn't play completely through them, but now I have all 3 and most of the DLCs and am starting over from scratch playing all 3 with the benefits of playing on a PS5. It's quite nice to have all 3 games together in one package and interface.
The fight in the theater where it forced you to do certain things against Ellie as a psychopath I despised was pretty revolting. I stopped my second playthrough on the harder setting right before that point and haven't played it since.
The presence of the topic of racism doesn't mean it's promoting racism. That is an extremely counterproductive perspective if you're confusing those things. I believe that mentality has worsened relationships between races considerably. We need more focus on rational thought about topics and less on trying to get offended and claiming victimhood.
Not allowing you to participate in that sequence in Bioshock does not give you the same uneasy feeling of actually pu...
