I'm still way too early in the game to know what to think of this other than Frey talks way too much and the dialogue is awful. I got a key for the PC version with my 6900XT last year but it only recently was finally released. I've got it running decently with FSR2 at good settings, but that doesn't help address the mediocre writing obviously.
"✔️ Hilarious dialogue."
Very questionable pro.
For whatever reason Arizona Sunshine was the VR game that really kicked me in the guts. I was queasy and sweating within the first few minutes. That game really did not agree with me.
I really wanted to play RE7 and Skyrim that way, but my stomach had other ideas. I have had zero problems with extreme temperatures, driving through mountains, cruse ships, helicopter rides, roller coasters, military training, ect., but I finally got a taste of the nausea I'd always heard about with VR. I think it's the fact that I see a visual representation in motion but my movement is static. I'm going to try to get my stomach back in shape for PSVR2 next month. Stocking up on ...
Also people buy phones for $1200 and replace them after 2 to 3 years. LOL. Frankly, the PSVR2 is a steal for the specs at this price. I predicted it would cost $500 but without the fancy new controls, which overall is even less than I expected. They have to be losing money at that price considering it has better specs than headsets that cost 2x to 3x more.
"Yes I’ll admit I’m a games journalist, and thus I was born with a genetic inability to play video games without sucking giant ass at them, so turning down the difficulty on Callisto was more or less inevitable."
I'll give this person credit for being honest and having a sense of humor about it. I'm still baffled how they can play games and write about their experiences for a living and still be so awful at it. They tend to frequently be terrible at both t...
The primary reason is they can sell many more copies currently by including PS4.
That is nonsense. Every time you are slowly squeezing through a gap or slowly climbing around on a ledge between corridors, the design is compensating for the slow loading previous generation hardware. None of that would be necessary if it was made from the ground up on PS5. It could be designed to be much more open with rapid traversal through the environments.
It can simultaneously still be a great game and even Game of the Year but also be constrained in some ways by tec...
@FinalFantasyFanatic There were optimization patches that tried to address frame rate problems that didn't exist?

It was interesting to see reviewers claim one would "barely notice" when Breath of the Wild dropped to 15 fps in grassy fields but yet were "very disappointed" that Nier: Automata did not maintain a rock solid 60 fps. Curious how those standards vary substantially by game.
I've really only had a few UI bugs that were fixed with reloading a save like a "Hold X" icon persisting way beyond when it was supposed to be there. I don't think I had any major crashes or gamebreaking things happen, although I felt like breaking a controller when I got trapped in a library for 2 hours due to being underleveled for a boss fight I had to win to escape. Seemed quite punishing for simple exploring.
I have a 5800x/ 6900XT PC, so the main thing I'm looking for on PS5 would be those games and eventually some PSVR2 stuff. I'm probably on PC 60% to 70% of the time depending on what is out, but I really enjoy some games on the PS5 and use the DualSense on both machines depending on genre.
However, I do get the point of it being ridiculous to constantly bicker over machines when frankly all of them are pretty good this time. The newest consoles have very impressive C...
It probably seems less "current gen" to the people who still haven't been able to locate and buy one yet.
"While the frame rates and resolution are better than the ps4 version..."
That is a pretty massive difference and a very computationally expensive improvement. You sound pretty dismissive of one of the most substantial improvements between generations. The PS4 usually
had a shaky 30 fps for new games. Every PS5 game I've purchased has had a 60 fps mode and many have had a 120 fps mode in addition to looking much better graphically.

About 4x raw power, but that's still a conservative estimate given PS5 has a better design with dedicated bits of hardware to more efficiently and capably handle things like sound and I/O. I was honestly shocked at how far they went with the CPUs. Prior to the specs being released I predicted that we would still have a decent amount of 30 fps games because even with a good GPU there is only so far you can go without the CPU power to manage it, but I had to alter my expectations considerab...
Ridiculous dialogue, mostly. It's terrible:
“So let me get this straight. I’m somewhere that’s not what I would call Earth. I’m seeing freaking dragons. And…oh yeah, I’m talking to a cuff. Yeah okay, that is something I do now. I do magic, kill jacked-up beasts. I’ll probably fly next.”
I can tell just from the name 22.02-06.00.00.42-00.00.00.0.0 that it's going to be truly amazing.
Ah, some substantial features. Most of the time these are hyped up and they just "improve stability" in whatever way and are barely noticeable.
I am going to try conditioning my stomach with the Kayak game so I can handle this. I haven't played VR much since I upgraded from PS4 Pro to PS5. Had no problems with AstroBot or Moss, but 1st person and cockpit views did a number on me.
