Does anyone remember how many months passed after 360's release, when you couldn't find one in store? Still, this is good news for Sony. Regardless, MS won big with the 360. From being no one to it's current position (in terms of gaming) is a feat.
We are talking about games and game companies. It's not about where the game came out first. If that was a rule, FF, Metal Gear, and many others would only ship for Wii. To talk about loyalty is silly. Why don't we stop this stupidity of console wars and just play. If you like something, buy it and shut-up! I selodm see people fighting about movies, music, etc.
It does not let you upscale DVDs. You can get 1080p on games, just like with component. Again, no 1080p for movies, including HD DVD.
More power to the consumer; sure. But when Gamestop gives you five bucks for a game they sell for $15 I can't see how this helps the industry. Also, with new games, you usually only save $5 for the used version, hurting developers.

Any perfect score for any game is stupid. No game is perfect. Not Halo, Bioshock, Mario whatever, MGS4, etc. This industry needs to grow up, and you fanboys need to stop crying for bad reviews.
Forza and GT5 have been done many times. Why is anyone interested in this old games with new graphics? These are wastes of money. 0% creativity.
How can anyone be intereted in Forza or GT5? The formula has been done many times. Get your licenses, tweak your car and blah blah blah...What changes? the graphics? It's that all?

This is becoming very annoying. This guy said this. That guy said that. Come on! Play the games. When the game comes on 360, if an extra disc is needed, so be it. This isn't a sandbox type of game. MS has always stated that 720 is thier goal. They added 1080p to prove SONY wrong, on their 1080p claims. SONY had initially stated that their games would run at 1080p; they don't. NONE of this games look great; not even the N Gaiden. RR7 runs at 1080p and 60fps but looks like a cartoon. So, really nasim, aren't you just starting a stupid debate here? I own both systems and almost 80% of the games look better on 360.

Those comparing 1st Year Xbox 360 vs 1st year PS3 are missing a HUGE point. When the 360 came out, developers weren't sure if the 360 was a wise investment. When, and only when it started kicking but, they got into action. Not to mention that the system was not even available in stores.
On the other hand, developers assumed the Ps3 would be a success, until they learned the price.
Bottom line; this war was Sony's to loose. 360 has games NOW. Many more than the PS3. PS1...

I own a 360 + Hd DVD, and a PS3. In terms of gaming, 360 all the way. But the whole combo thing is what pushed me to get a ps3. Why? I love HD. One of my favorite movies, The Prestigue, is BR only in the US. I could have imported. But many of my favorite movies, aka 300, are indeed more expensive in the format that SHOULD BE cheaper.
HD DVD should be cheaper. Period. Overall, I enjoy the Hd DVD menus more than BR. With Universal going HD DVD exclusive, the BR catalog looks thin...
That may have worked during the last generation, but I doubt people want the same graphics 3 years from now. I sure don't. Also, is this why 360 has outperformed PS3 in that department? Are they saving their power? Or was ATI correct in their graphics solution? I own both systems; the PS3 has some nice things (BLU Ray baby). But the facts are facts. Sony is no longer number one.
