I think some forget how the MS sold twice as many 360s as PS3 in the US last month. Before anyone talks about putting someone to bed, Sony must focus on catching up in the US. I think we'll have plenty of PS3 and 360 for a while.
Break-
For those concerned about MS spending money for this or that, it's their money.
Could this relate to the fact that the game is 3D? (2 images)
1st. Not all exclusives are at the same level. KZ3, Uncharted 3 and Resistence, YES. KUDOS for Sony!! The others on your lists, nobody cares about. Sony had many exclusives this year as well and it didn't chage anything. Think about this; you buy a game with good online, you'll play it more (instead of buying another one). I don't have time to buy/play 10 games. Some do; most don't.
2nd. Xbox Live. I own a PS3 60 gig. Nice machine (VUDU rocks), but frankly, I rather p...
You're probably correct on this one.
Better looking multiplatform games and XBOX Live. I own Uncharted 2, and KZ2, great games. Online wasn't that great. It seems that now it's not just about exclusives; it's about the online experience (at least in the US). Also, all this hardcore gamer talk applies to a smaller market (by definitiion). The Wii (best selling console) is not a hardcore system. Hardcore doesn't equal big sales (smaller crowd).
Every source I read says they're tied over there. Granting they're not, you know who sold well in Europe and not the US? The Sega Master System. So the PS3 is the new SMS! (just kidding of course). Sometimes is just better to say, good job MS. Also, I think Butler (funny and all) is not working.
The goal was to build relationships with developers.
"There is probably no more challenging a market for us than the Japanese market," said Mr Moore.
1 Million system goal for Japan is not standing a chance.

Gaming in the US is shifting towards online, and in that area, there is no comparison. Yes I own a PS3; yes XBOX live is way better. So, even if there are no exclusives (yes, Sony is doing great), multiplatforms look better still and the online is better on 360.
Come' on guys. MS did very well. Yes, 1.4 mill in a month (Wii did slightly less). For Sony fans that can't congratulate their adversary, chill out. Yes, they're tied in Europe, and PS3 is winning in the land of the rising sun. By the way, go back to when the 360 launched and you'll read about how MS knew they didn't have a chance in Japan. Anyway, great year for all consoles. Vudu on my PS3 rocks!
I think some underestimate the power of Xbox Live. (yes, I own a 60 gig ps3). Gaming also includes robust online and psn is not quite there yet. This is not a spear. I love my ps3. The market simply changed.
Good point!
Yes, more exclusives than non is a plus. But seriously, out of the list only KZ, Resistence and LBP look interesting. Twisted Metal looks like crap (they may prove me wrong), SOCOM is not the same thing it once was.The 360 side looks limited (Gears only) and slightly better multiplatforms (on graphics side). Something tells me Crysis will end up better on 360. So yes, many ps3 exclusives, not all AAA, but enough for a great year.
Let me school you,
First, I've owned NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PS3, and 360. Historically, the American and Japanese markets have been the lead markets, the US getting the edge. Why, it's all about $$$. Software sales, hardware sells. Etc. For the Sony fans in the crowd, ask Sony which market they would like to dominate and, you know the answer. Does it mean, Sony is not doing good? No. But not even MS thought it had a chance in Jap...
Meanwhile in Japan the Wii is number one by far...American systems don't sell in Japan. Europe Wii is number one, Sony and MS are tied.
I dream of the day when Xbox owners say:
"gt5 is a game I want to play because it's great!."
PS3 Owners:
"you know what, Forza got many awards, I think I'm going to check it out."
If you think Forza is crap you're wrong. If you think GT5 is crap you're wrong. I think history has shown both systems to be very capable of delivering great games.
Doesn't it make more sense to compare it with PS3 games?
The Geo Metro should have been a premium car! Imagine the cockpit in 1080P!
Good point. I misunderstood your point.
Go back and read the reviews; everything you stated is opinion. The game won many awards and visuals were praised. It doesn't mean it looked better than GT5, but it does not look bad, and all 400 cars look next Gen.
Who comes up with this stuff? Industry analysts talk about PS3 price cuts not 360. MS is still ahead globally. You ignore the fact that MS is beating Sony in two generations. The original Xbox didn't come close to PS2. A generation later, PS3 is behind. Sega couldn't do it. Nintendo couldn't do it with the N64 or the GC a few generations ago.
