800 cars look like PS2 and most premium look slightly better than F3.

80% of the cars look like PS2. It is a big deal. Forza has 400 cars total but they all look good.

And yes, developers are getting better at developing for ps3, but the also get better for 360. In the end, it's easier/cheaper to work on 360 and get results. Look at GT5, slightly better looking than Forza 3 (read the reviews) and took for ever. In that time T10 sold 2 games. Selling is the name of the game.

Unlike the PS1, the PS3 was poorly designed for quick ports.

If you want it to look like the 360 version, you end up spending more. This is a business. You should boycott Sony, not game developers.

Just like the PS1 was easier to program for than the technically superior Sega Saturn. In general, companies spend more money on the PS3 version to make it look like the 360 one, and the game sells less anyway on that system.

200 super nice cars, 800 with ps2 textures, and awful backgrounds. Several reviews mentioned this, and one actually said Forza looks better (the only one I read that compared their graphics). Cell processors are great but 360's GPU usually performs better with less effort.

Ok, so not the visual masterpiece we thought, but a great game. Maybe that's why they didn't want early reviews. Can't believe Forza looks better.

Just like Kinect, when publishers don't want reviews prior to release something is wrong. About the graphics, in-game and replay are two different things. I still think the game will be good, but don't expect 10s.

I own Forza 3; it is a great game. Still, I remember one of it's developer giving kudos to GT5 on graphics (specially replay).

However, a lot of publishers are doing it. I think it'll be a great game. Don't expect perfect scores though.

Great article. SNES won after SEGA had moved on. Yes, the PS3 will probably be around in 2014, but I won't be playing it anymore. I'll be playing Next Gen. This has been one of the best generations for gamers thanks to competition and I'm glad MS and Nintendo were able to hold off the beast. I own both hd consoles and 360 is simply better for multiplat. PS3 is still great hardware and I do enjoy KZ. If Sony wants to beat MS while it counts 2012 is a good cutoff.
PS- I thin...

Sold very well in Europe and Brazil, not the US or Japan. We considered it a failure. I live in the US; I don't care about the Japanese market. Sony does (and should). MS, not me should worry about the beating it's taking over there. Here (US), Xbox is a massive success, PS3 is doing OK, and the Wii is kicking behind. N4G has become a PS3 apologetics forum. PS3 the new religion. Hey, I own a 60Gig (which I love) and a 360 S. But my PS3 brothers need to relax. Competition is good for t...

Grow up people! Fighting over the score of a game that you haven't played? Do you want a Happy Meal? Just buy the game. It is precisely because of fanboys that reviewers can't honestly rate games. A 7 is good. Because of fanboyism scores get inflated. No game deserves a perfect score. That's nonsense. All games can be better.

I find that once you play one of these games all others are boring. After GT1/2/3/4, Sega GT (Dreamcast), Forzas, and Prologue, this can only be a super polished racer. I hope they prove me wrong. No more driver's licenses please. Does anyone know about its multiplayer? Thanks!

Crusadernm beat me to the punch. Sell 1 in september and 2 in October and you have 50% increase. All companies do this type of stuff. Keep in mind that poor sales, etc. affect stock holders as well.

We all know that 360 was designed for easier development (much like PS1 was). Remember how Saturn was actually better but was harder to program for? Not all developers have 5 years to create games; it's a business, not charity. PS3 is still my favorite BR player, so I'm happy I own both!

The bottom line is this; the cool thing to do these days is to play shooters online, and XBL is simply better (I own a 60 Gig PS3). In the 90s it was fighting games, remember? This doens't mean that the PS3 doesn't have great games. Just don't expect big headlines for Mario-type or even FF-type games. Companies in general brag about their strenghts, right? Sony brags about BR, MS brags about XBL. Competition is good for gamers. I don't understand what drives these wars!

Sure, it may be the most polished, best looking, most realisitc, etc., etc. I don't doubt it. But, let's face it, this is a "shooters" generation. Many PS3 games get delayed post holidays to maximize sales. But I seriously doubt that this is Sony's nuke to MS. Metal Gear wasn't (wih all the hype). I don't see a Kinect-like, a Halo Reach-like, or a COD-like launch for this one.

Let’s start with 360. As mentioned by some already, MS is the big winner. Why? This is their follow-up to their first system and they have dominated the HD market so far. Remember how 2007 would be the year of PS3, or 2008, or 2009, etc. Also, MS dominates the most important market, the US. By the way, the first year lead was really six month if you count the shortages. The 360 was MIA for many months after release. Finally, the Japanese market has never been kind to US born systems (maybe a ...
