It's really about consumer choice and not being forced to upgrade to a new generation right away. Which really isn't a bad thing especially after millions of people had lost lots of wages during the Corona Virus pandemic.
And when someone does choose to upgrade to XSX the games will automatically upgrade to the XSX version at no additional cost.
Not too mention this isn't an over-reaching policy. 3rd party developers don't have to follo...
Because, they are launch games. Like every generation of console ever launched better looking games that take more advantage of the new consoles features come later in the consoles lifespan... not at launch.
They have lots of new franchises coming... But it takes time to develop AA & AAA new IPs... Like
Ninja Theory Project: Mara
Rare Everwild
Dontnodgames IP owned by Microsoft "Tell Me Why"
Obsidian Grounded (not AA or AAA, but a new passion product created by a small team)
Mojang Minecraft Dungeons (Not necessarily a new IP in name but it is going to be a very successful complete spin-off)
InXile “AAA” RPG title in de...
This is an area where Sony is not a big player in at all... So the only real choices were Amazon's AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure. Sony did their homework and chose the one they deemed best. Nothing more nothing less.
Where is your source? Or are you talking out of your ass?
It is only being cross-supported until 2021... Most of the triple A titles are launching outside of that time frame... Meaning all of those games can be XSX exclusives. This holds no company back not to mention it is not enforced for 3rd party studios. I like it and allows some extra mileage out of the current gen... Because now I don't need to rush into next-gen.
ummm… It was announced to be compatible with both systems. Why wouldn't it be lots of Xbox studios use the UE engine... and that Hell blade II demo looked fantastic may not have been gameplay... but it was in-engine footage... I think a lot of you guys talking trash will be in for a rude awakening come the July showcase of 1p XSX games...
With that said I don't really care... Both systems will have great games and I personally will own both.
lol... called marketing deals... XSX is more powerful to deny that is ridiculous Specs have been released. Great games / great looking games will def. come to both platforms though no doubt about that.
Wo said PS5 was weak? It def. is not more powerful than the SXS if that is what you are getting at... but it is not weak... Why did they showcase their next-gen engine with PS5... maybe a marketing deal with Sony? Or maybe they prefer programming for PS5? Who knows and who cares...
This demo would look better on SXS when optimized to the full potential. Why? Because SXS is a more powerful system (sorry those are just facts). The game will def. load faster on the PS5 though.
Great looking games will be present on both next-gen systems. Buy the system you prefer or why not both? Enjoy all the games and have fun.
Or buy the PS5 and play 1p Xbox games on PC... Who cares games were meant to be played and enjoyed doesn't matter th...
@Tross No they not saying X1 or PS4 couldn't handle the game... They are saying Next-Gen (systems) would be held back due to the game appearing on current-gen (X1 and PS4) systems and supporting Cross-play.
"The bad news, at least from a prospective next-gen owner point of view, is that the studio would be looking to make Deep Rock Galactic cross-play with current-generation (Xbox One and PlayStation 4), and as a result, their aging hardware specs would indirectly ...
Why is it terrible? They are spreading out events. The Xbox May event showcases the 3rd party effort and games coming to Xbox Series X or enhanced for Xbox Series X. The Xbox June event will focus on 1st party game titles and possible other Xbox related news. Not sure why this is terrible.
I think the writer of this article missed the entire purpose of this showcase... It is to showcase the 3rd party games coming to the Xbox Series X. Almost the entire article focuses on 1st party games LAMO... That is what the June showcase is for not May. Just so anyone isn't confused who read this article... None of the 1p games mentioned in the article will be shown at this event that is focused entirely on 3rd party games.
*Some* probably not all of the 3rd party...
lol... can't this shit just stop... PS5 is less powerful and has a faster SSD... Who gives a shit play the system and games you like.
Sounds like they need to optimize better on the X1X... Clearly any skilled / Non-lazy developer not trying to half-ass development will get better performance out of the X1X... X1X is better than the PS4 Pro in every aspect. This isn't fanboyism it is simply the truth in terms of power.
They announced it on twitter. That is not a huge announcement. It only expands games playable on GamePass which is never a bad thing right? And I highly doubt anyone who has wanted to play it already played it. That is generally never the case and it opened it up for millions of gamers who may have never played it before but would have liked to. I mean who wouldn't want an AAA game on a subscription service as a choice?
Well... GamePass is extremely similar to Netflix and could equate to the NetFlix of gaming. However, you download the games and play them locally you don't stream them so why would that matter in the context of getting out of the hardware business?
I don't think XCloud is a very big threat to eliminate the Xbox Hardware business. They did it to expand devices that Xbox Games are playable (mainly making the Xbox portable) on just about every Smartphone in existen...
Baseball has a limited market so this only makes since especially with Switch and Xbox not having a licensed baseball competitor. Well other than that crappy annual R.B.I. baseball game.
So? It's a fictional game. Clearly, they thought their voices fit the fictional characters.
Being way over priced used to be the case for digital... But now it seems they always have a lot of steep price cuts for flash sales and holiday sales. Digital prices are starting to come down to more reasonable prices on more of a regular basis. But, you do lose the ability to have any trade in value for the future. I think anyway. But for the great majority of games that come out I am not a day one purchase gamer anymore.
