This is hardly news, it's just one of the many titles getting a digital release for PSP GO. I found a used copy a couple months ago for fifteen bucks, and yes, it has the first two crazy taxi games on it.
One of the best games ever!
Iiiiinteresting. I'm still bummed that it's not a Heavenly Sword follow up though. Sounds like it could turn out pretty cool?
Down with Twitter!
And as for the article, anybody who can assign automated twitter updates adjectives such as "vomit inducing" and "porn-like" reeeaaallly need to get out and experience new things...
Give me a break man. Talk about trolling for hits. "It is without a doubt, 100% true that this footage MIGHT not be in-game."
it's not like I won't buy this when it comes out anyway... I can still remember how excited I was to play GT4. This thing is going to be massive.
I'm surprised at all the comments from guys who know what a battery powered bean flicker looks like...
Hey guys, some day you're going to be dying, and regretting the countless hours you spent arguing about f*cking video games.
That's pretty exciting to me, since all my PS2 games are long gone and I never had a dreamcast. I would spend way too much on something like this.
Just like that-
bubbles! hahaha
I can't stand any of the games they make anyway, so I have no problem not purchasing or playing any of them. What a prick.
My roommate's friend will not shut up about his XBOX every time he sees my PS3. I don't think these people get that I don't f*cking care what they think about the capabilities of my console's web browser, I just want them to shut up so I can enjoy my beer and consider not inviting them to the next party.
Well I don't think Valve is a one trick pony personally, I think their games are varied enough for all being in the same vein, but I do think it's strange for somebody to defend their sh*tty ports when plenty of other companies do just fine on all fronts of the gaming market. I love the Half Life series, but I don't feel the need to slobber Valve's knob about it.
Seriously? How do you disagree with concrete proof!? If you don't believe me, go play the game and see for yourself. Hell, call up valve and ask them if Half Life was released for PS2.
Polyphony Digital also had a highly acclaimed space shooter called Omega Boost, and Bungie did Marathon (to much praise) and Oni (to minimal praise.) If you want to go the route of game genres that these companies create games within, PD and Bungie both have Valve beat. Valve has only ever released first person shooters. I think that's where the "one trick pony" view comes from.
My statements are not directed at EA because it's Valve's game! For example: I build bicycle frames. If I personally build my frames for customers in Europe and the United States, but am unable to create frames for the Japanese market (this is hypothetical, keep in mind) and another company wants to pay me to copy my frames but make them on their own equipment in their own factory for Japan, I would decline the offer in order to avoid a situation such as this, where my acclaimed product gets ...
Half Life 1 WAS on PS2, and it INCLUDED decay. It also featured updated character models, textures, etc. That's how I was first able to experience the whole game from start to finish. See image - bottom right screen cap on the back says "also includes new co-op game half-life decay"
Valve DID make the orange box, and then EA ported it. The fact is they shrugged it off and left me with the poorest, least supported version of the title for the same price as anyone else paid, because they didn't want to deal with developing on an unfamiliar platform. I can respect a brilliant creation, but a brilliant creation handed over to a third party in the face of production challenges is far less desirable when I have access to titles that have been optimized for the format I use mos...
This game has been out on UMD since 2007. It's just getting re-released on PSN for the PSP GO. We probably won't be seeing those rumored dreamcast titles for a while yet if they turn out to be true.
If you want to check this game out, it's called Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars, and you can get a used UMD copy pretty cheap most places. It's a blast, but crazy taxi always is :)
