I prefer the quicker response of L1/L2, the triggers on 360 and PS3 have way too much travel in them for my taste, but I also started playing FPS on PC where the click of a mouse button fired the weapon. I do really wish DICE would just offer a custom option though, especially since the beta's "veteran" scheme, which claims to offer controls for players of previous games in the series, is still different from what the controls used to be on a few fundamental levels.
Or maybe DICE could offer customizable controls, for the people who only play Battlefield and don't want to have to pull their thumbs away from the sticks to perform any of the game's essential combat actions, as was possible in BF3. Right now we are required to map either crouch or melee to the circle button, neither of which are actions I want to have to relinquish stick control to perform.
There's no such thing as "sensible" misogyny. Realistic, sure. But not sensible.
Now we just have to rearrange the phrase "Tunnel Snakes," convert each letter to its numerical place in the alphabet, do a little random math and we'll know when it's going to be released and which console gets DLC first.
I hope you can turn the sound effects off... I want my UI to be silent rather than have a Gran Turismo style chime for every single action.
Search & Destroy is nearly identical Counter-Strike's bomb defusal mode, which predates both Socom and Call of Duty.
For me the jump in visual quality and features (going from current gen to next gen consoles, 24 to 64 players, 30fps to 60fps) is enough to get excited about BF4. Isn't the point of a sequel to be a bigger, better version of the last game?
The autosave issue wasn't a bug, it was a temporary problem with Sony's servers that record player data. There was nothing wrong with the actual game code, and it likely wasn't an issue for anyone reviewing the game, or we would have heard about it before launch day.
So according to this guy, the Family Share plan is just a glorified way of distributing game demos, limiting each "family member" to a timed trial of a full game, then prompting them to buy it when their time is up.
I don't get how that's so super great, or how he can compare it to Pandora or Spotify. You don't pay for Spotify so you can listen to the first 15 minutes of an album your friend has and then decide whether or not you want to buy it.
So... what would Bioshock and Last Of Us be without their female leads? There would be no plot. Each game would just be some guy getting into a bunch of trouble for no reason. I don't understand how this is better.
I liked the new Most Wanted a bit better than the old one, actually. It put me in competition with my friends for the most wanted spot rather than some lame tough-guy story characters. I also dig the DLC packs they've done that include drifting and tuners from some of the previous games. I have good memories of the old NFS games but when I go back to play them I am usually underwhelmed compared to the newer titles like Hot Pursuit 2010 and Most Wanted.
I've played NFS since the first one came out almost 20 years ago, would love to see more menu options come back while keeping all the cool multiplayer competition of the newer versions. Also, why did my car get less beat up in MW single player crashes than in multiplayer? That was a bit weird.
I'll reinstall FC3 to my hard drive just to play this! Looks really cool!

I'm going to buy this game JUST BECAUSE of all these whiners who think they have some kind of ownership right to DMC. I probably wouldn't have purchased it otherwise, but all this "controversy" led me to download the demo, and I liked it!
Have you even tried to play games on a Dualshock? It's a poorly designed controller that was outdated 10 years ago. I'd much rather use a controller that was actually made to fit the human hand, like a PS3 Dualshock
Despite the fact that bots still don't matter to the core gameplay, have you actually played a CS:GO match against bots on the highest skill? I'm a CS player, and I don't know what you mean by "knife beats gun." If you can sneak up on somebody and knife them in the back of the head, then sure, you get a kill, but going head on into somebody with a knife will get you killed. Jumping slows you down and imposes the maximum accuracy reduction possible in CS, so it's not ...
So I've been playing CS:GO the last several nights because it "used to be fun?" There are plenty of games that I have good memories of playing with friends, but I wouldn't boot them up today.
Just because COD has brainwashed people into expecting all FPS games to have ADS, kill/die deathmatch, and unlockable halloween masks doesn't mean they need that stuff to be fun.
It's a competitive online FPS. AI is only there for practice, and is meant to emulate the range of "too good" to "newbie" players you'll encounter online. Play a match with only bots (med to hard skill) and you'll see that some play consistently better than others.
I haven't had any trouble with lag or hit detection, and I've put several hours into the game. As for the graphics, I suppose that is subjective, but they don't look any ...
Yeah they released sooo many updates, and so many levels and modes that were locked behind paywalls, it took up waay too much hard drive space for what it was, and felt like I payed for a free-to-play game anyway. It was fun, but not fun enough for me to keep paying/downloading.
