He at least doesn't understand why they made some of the choices they made for the gameplay. The way he describes the ability to turn in place as "lame" and "lazy development" is way off. That ability has been in previous games, and it's there because it's a multiplayer combat game first, and a driving game second.
If you couldn't turn quickly in place, how would you hit back at someone coming at you from an angle? If these cars behaved lik...
From a costumer service standpoint, "Dave" wasn't crossing any lines, at least not at first, and as the emails went on, the PR guy went from being drastically unhelpful to antagonistic. The whole point of customer service is dealing with people who might be upset with your company. If I employed a PR guy who thought he could shit all over the customers while bragging about himself and his connections, he'd be out the door on his ass in the blink of an eye, and if he's th...
Really, Commander?
Anybody got a link to the trailer? I was out of the house when VGAs started!
Actually, the style of racing in the demo reminded me a little of the very first Need For Speed on PSX. Underground was fun, but it was super cheesy and had no cop chases. The Hot Pursuit series has always been my favorite, and I love the latest one but it needs custom race options badly. If this title has even LESS race options, that's ridiculous.
I think the only "best kill" moment is when he walks into the breaker room with the 870 and does a double take on the guy who miraculously FAILS to drop him before getting merc'd like 30 seconds later. So real you could almost see his thumb up his ass.
Ah you're right. For some reason I thought I remembered seeing the frostbite hand in the logo cue at the beginning. Sounds like it's about time for me to go replay Mirror's Edge!
Here's what I think would be cool: Need For Speed style driving segments, and then when you have to switch cars, you get to play a Mirror's Edge style first-person running segment. That way the time limit element plays into it nicely, and you can run from the cops on foot like you ran from them in ME. The game's even running on DICE's engine, so it seems like a no-brainer to me.
I've seen some total shit lvl 50s. Guys who try to communicate by shooting their squadmates, guys who can't clear a base, guys who bunch up on me at a flag & make it easier for the bad guys to take us all out at once if they get the chance... makes me wonder how they got there in the first place.
Yeah the guy doesn't get it. His article could have been condensed into a single sentence: "I don't like Battlefield's gameplay, so it is bad and nobody should like it." What a turd.
Sorry Ryan, but not everyone wants to play Unreal Tournament: Boring Military Edition. How can you accuse Battlefield of being a bad game because YOU don't get it? What a strange article.
Much like their recent release, Crysis 2, which looked and performed just as well on the PC as it did on the Xbox and PlayStation! Uh... I mean performed half as well on consoles as it did on PC, and still managed to come up with a different resolution between PS3 and 360.
I never played the 360 demo, but on PS3 I could train my sights on a guy and empty a clip only to die and see the kill-cam depict my soldier firing off-target the entire time. One match I'd be at the top of the leaderboard, and the next I'd be dead last without making any changes to my play style. My score mostly seemed to depend on whether or not my hits registered. I never experienced anything like this problem with shooters like Bad Company 1/2 or Killzone 2/3, so it's not my c...
My experience is actually very close to what this article describes. At first I thought it was some kind of visual effect (I've never played Crysis before today) but once I got moving I realized it was just poor resolution. I was pretty surprised by how bad it was. After all those cool looking shots in the trailers on PSN I was expecting something much better looking. And don't get me started on what a pain it was to play!
More like Ball Of Doody! Eh? Eh? *fart noise*
Bad Company 2 would be the game to play if you own a console, as it represents the latest Battlefield in terms of technology and gameplay. The bad company series was basically a platform for introducing a single player campaign alongside the online portion of the game, which is the most fun I've ever had with a multiplayer game.
This down time is supposed to be for fixing these issues. The slow stats certainly don't keep BC2 (especially vietnam) from being my favorite multiplayer shooter ever though. I love this game!
That's kinda how I feel. Technically the Wii is a suped up gamecube, but at the same time, it's in a totally different universe. SO MANY PEOPLE have this thing! Why not ride the wave all the way back to the beach before you decide to swim out and make another?
I don't even want to think about a new PlayStation, I still need to catch up with the one I've already got. I haven't even played Red Dead Redemption yet!
Duke Nukem: Chinese Democracy
He's diving out of 2012 and directly into a 90s competitive FPS, but I don't think he gets that. The way counter-strike works is what makes it counter-strike.
No ADS, quick rounds that make up best-of matches, and a focus on headshot accuracy rather than hitscan.
THIS! IS! COUNTER STRIIIKE! *kicks into well*
